"And that's how clouds are made and used."
RainbowDash, FlutterShy, and Twilight Sparkle were walking around Cloudsdale, RainbowDash was explaining the purpose of clouds to Twilight, having flown up here since Twilight had not quite adjusted to her wings quite yet.
"Thanks for helping me get up here, RainbowDash and FlutterShy. I still don't feel comfortable flying with these yet," Twilight said, fluttering her wings slowly.
"Um... Twilight? I think that with a little practice..." FlutterShy spoke up softly, smiling. "I think you will learn how to fly just fine."
"Thanks, FlutterShy," Twilight said, sighing and trying to smile back.
"I think that you can glide just fine," RainbowDash crouched, flicking her rainbow tail side to side. "All that you have to do is jump and spread your wings out!" She said, dashing towards the edge and jumping off, unfolding her wings and letting herself glide, barely flapping her wings until she got low. Then she stopped and started flying back up. "Like that!"
"Okay, I guess I'll try," Twilight said, nervously glancing towards the edge and galloping towards the edge. Then when she got close she jumped, letting the wind catch her wings and she started slowly gliding down. RainbowDash caught up to Twilight, Fluttershy just barely followed, all the way to the ground they glided, but then Twilight folded her wings before they landed, and fell screaming to the ground, which was barely too high up.
"Oh goodness! Are you okay Twilight?" Fluttershy quickly flew down to help Twilight.
"Yeah, I think so," Twilight stood up, shaking leaves from her mane, but that's when she noticed where she glided to. "Hey! It's Sweet Apple Acres!"
"Twilight! Oh thank goodness you're here, something weird is goin' on!" AppleJack came charging out towards Twilight and the others.
"What sort of weird?"
"Come on!" AppleJack said, tossing her head and running back the direction she came.
Later they found AppleJack at an apple tree, pacing around and looking up towards the leaves until she noticed them.
"Twi! Thank goodness, something's wrong with these trees!"
"What's happening?" RainbowDash spoke up, flying up to look closer at the leaves.
"No matter how much I try, the apples won't come down!"
"What?"
AppleJack turned and hit the tree with her back legs, but no apples came down.
"See? I tried goin' up and pickin' them, but those apples won't come off, somethin' weird is happenin' to the trees," AppleJack looked up, then at Twilight.
"There has to be some sort of magic happening here," Twilight tried to move some branches aside with her magic, but they wouldn't budge.
"Maybe there's another unicorn nearby?" FlutterShy spoke, softly of course.
Then there was rustling nearby. Everypony pricked their ears and turned to the noise, up high in another tree. RainbowDash flew over, and pushed her way past some branches, but she came out two heartbeats later. "Nothing there!"
But that's when apples started showering down from the tree that the other ponies were standing under. Twilight moved them aside with her levitation and looked towards AppleJack and Fluttershy.
"There must be another unicorn trying to mess with us!"
"Um... Excuse me, Twilight? Do you think Rarity or Pinkie Pie have seen the unicorn yet?" FlutterShy said.
Twilight gasped, her eyes widening. "What if this unicorn starts attacking us?!"
