"You shouldn't be here"
I spoke into the darkness of the room
My thoughts as low as a whisper
His presence as strong as the midnight sun
The old quilt atop the bed moved a fraction of an inch
His chill surrounding my flesh
His lips devouring my pores
He needed this more than I needed life
"Shh," He held me with such strength that I thought I could scream
Out into the room waking up my father, my neighbors, the boy who always watched
But he was more clever than that
Sliding his hand over my mouth he kissed my ear then continued
I squirmed only for a moment or two then let go of reality
The world went blacker than a mineshaft
Shadows played like puppets, telling me a story of 'Once upon a time'
The noises he made were softer than a newborn's heartbeat
I felt a maternal bond with this man by my side
I wanted to nourish him, feed him, bathe him in my own blood
His hands searched for a way to pin me down more
To stop me from thrashing my body into his
My voice escaped my mouth but he covered it up as he inhaled
"It's all over now." He petted the top of my hair like a father calming his child
"You shouldn't be here"
I repeated as his tongue slid up my neck
"I know, Love," his words felt like nova cane
"It's just that," he paused scraping a tooth against a scab
"You're good enough to eat"
