This is a short one shot of aruani in chapter 31 on SNK manga… enjoy.

When they met again in the Stohess district her eyes widened in surprise.

When he took off his hood she couldn't help but flash back to the moment she'd done the same in her titan form.

She looked into his eyes as he spoke her name and asked for help. How could he trust her so much?

'No, this isn't trust.'

He'd always looked at her with trusting eyes and she couldn't stand it. And yet, at the same time she longed for that gaze upon her own unwavering eyes.

The three years they'd spent together hadn't been perfect, but it had yielded very interesting results. She was drawn back to many secret rendezvous and stolen glances. Her memories of their short times together, of sweet kisses and fiery touches, of innocent curiosity and human desire, made her heart heave in regret.

'His eyes are different', she noted.

'Does he know?' Was all she could ask herself, along with the partner question 'What does he think of me now?'

She knew it was all lies from the start when he begged her for help. There was a moment she hesitated before asking "Do I really look like such a good person to you?"

His honest answer surprised her. He confessed that in his opinion, if she didn't help them, she'd turn in to a bad person. 'If only you knew' she thought as her eyes settled on the ground. 'If he knows what I am why does he still call me a good person?' In that moment she agreed to help, but took her precautions first ensuring she wouldn't be caught helpless. She walked with them and always kept an eye on the other blonde noting the way his eyes had changed

Soon she stood in the open not wanting to join them in the underground tunnel. Finally the moment came in which she could no longer hold her silence towards him. "Geez. I'm hurt you know. Armin…since when did you start looking at me with those eyes?"

Then, came the confrontation.

She found herself unable to look at him as she answered his questions. She couldn't stomach the new look he gave her. "I couldn't have imagined that you would track me down and corner me, even here. That time…why didn't I kill you, I wonder…"

She left the statement open letting him read into it, knowing he would, more than the others.

They tried to plead her down to join them, but she'd already admitted her failure as a warrior and knew that there was no redemption for what she'd already done.

No matter how much his words of invitation enticed her, she knew things would never be the same, and there were things she still needed to do.

Mikasa was the first to show physical animosity towards her as she presented her blades.

"Armin…aren't you lucky that I was such a good person… to you."

She was going to set her plan in motion, but found it was Armin that made the first move as he fired a signal shot. Looking down at them as she was restrained, her panicked eyes met his in one last gaze. She saw that his eyes reflected only hurt and betrayal. Making her move she cut herself on her ring and became once again the female titan.
