Yuna's Ballad
Yuna's Ballad. The music is such a bittersweet piece, full of the emotions of what is lost. The reluctance to let go. The feeling of hope. Regret. It's the sound of how she still goes through her life with lost things. It also is the remnants of what it was like before. How she had gone through a journey, knowing her time was set, but smiling the entire way. But the sadness hung in the air like a frozen wisp of wind made visible for all to see. The happiness along the way was thin ice frozen above a cold pond, the slightest touch of grief cracking its surface, soon to break and crack the rest of the thin surface until it was in pieces. She flies through Spira, hardly in her own body. Like she is watching herself, sometimes wondering what the purpose of her journey is. She wanders away sometimes to memories of him, and it reminds her that she is looking for the smallest trace to show her that all is really not lost. She makes new friends. She makes new enemies. She finds a new self sleeping inside her. She may be Yuna, the Gullwing. But she will always be Lady Yuna, summoner who brought Spira its Eternal Calm.
Just something I cooked up randomly. I was listening to Yuna's Ballad and thinking about how every note seems to tell a bit of her story. And then when I was playing it on the piano, I decided I'd put it into words.
