Nightmare

It was her worst nightmare. The dark room. The pale closed curtains inclosing a hospital bed and it's prisoner. ICU. All the swelling crimson blood that gave him life, all the hated, hated blood. Her fear masked by a fierce grimace. She couldn't go behind the curtain. He was dieing behind the curtain. Tears. Her teammate. Her friend. Her- she stopped there.

"Tsunade-sama," the frightened obsidian eyes begged her, "He needs your skills. I'm doing the best I can but," Shizune's voice choked off and the weary eyes flooded with tears, "Please."

Tsunade bit her lip and extended a trembling hand to the curtain. She pulled it back. A nightmare. The same resigned gaze, the same long white hair contrasting against the wrong, wrong sea of red, the same suffering face. For a second she saw the other man and only the blood. Then she saw his face and the nightmare was over. This was reality. She wouldn't lose again.

"Don't you dare," the chakra orb bloomed around him, "don't you dare leave me yet." He smirked up at her.

"No, I won't. I won't leave you yet. I promise." He closed his eyes and let her work. She wouldn't lose him. Her teammate. Her friend. Her lover.
