I, Annabeth Chase, stood on the porch of the Big House. I was going home with my father, instead of staying at camp year-round like I had done since she was seven. Percy stood beside me, pondering where he should go. I was panicking, as I knew I had to tell him.

"I'm going home for the year, Percy."

Percy stared at me like I was crazy.

"Percy, I wrote to my dad after you said we should give it another chance."

Percy stood, dumbfounded. I was terrified; scared he would completely flip out on me, further damaging himself.

"That took guts."

I smiled, and all my nervousness disappeared.

"Take care, Seaweed Brain."

I walked up the hill, and gave my dad a hug. I glanced at my step-mom and two step-brothers. It was awkward, but it felt right to go home. I turned back to touch Thalia's pine tree, making sure it was okay. I admit it; I missed Thalia a whole lot. She was like an older sister to me. I entered the mortal world, over the crest.

And I realized head-on, I was in love with Percy Jackson.
