It was on a rainy day that he realised that he didn't love Rin anymore. For so long, his world had consisted of her. She was dark, graceful... mysterious. Even to him. Especially to him.

After so long, it was hard to accept that it was over. But little by little, someone else had taken her place as the axis of his world. Dawn had broken for him, irrevocably staining his monochromatic landscape with its vibrant colours.

When he asked himself how exactly it had happened - something he did often - he found that he simply didn't know. Although he could think of a dozen instances, he could never pinpoint a single one. All he knew was that he had woken up one day and found her inside his heart.

Perhaps his love for her had been planted a long time ago, when she first smiled at him. Perhaps it had grown gradually, unfurling one delicate petal at a time so slowly that he had never noticed it until that rainy day, when it was finally completely open to him.

He knew it wouldn't be easy to gain her love. With the cat so obviously in love with her, and possibly even his own Yuki smitten, he would definitely have to fight for her. They weren't ones to give up easily. But he was stubborn. He would win in the end.

"Oh! Hatsuharu-san! Please come inside, Hatsuharu-san will get sick in this weather."

And he would start today.

"Please, call me Haru-kun... Tohru-chan."

AN: Uh... what can I say? My first fanfic, basically created because there aren't enough Haru/Tohru fanfics floating around. :P Don't get me wrong, I adore Rin, but... well, for some unfathomable reason, I squeal like a rabid fangirl at the thought of Haru and Tohru together. If you do that too (and even if you don't), please review!
