Can feel my energy draining.

And my throat is sealing itself shut.
My fever is terrible,
Burning through me mercilessly.
I was there when they told you there was no hope.
I saw the fire that is you go out.
I haven't seen it since.
There are rare moments when I'm lucid,
You think I don't recognise you any more.
How could I not know you?
You have my heart and my soul,
Living inside of you.
I live in you, and you in me.

A tear runs down your cheek as you look down upon me now.
I long to wipe it away,
To feel the gentleness of your beautiful skin.
But I lack the energy.
All I can do is swim in the depths of your green eyes.

Inching painfully, muscles screaming.

My body begins to shake uncontrollably,
And I know the end is near.
I wake you and more tears fall.
"Don't go yet! I'm not ready. I haven't had enough time! Please!"
My love, you will never be ready.
All my strength is needed as I whisper,
"I will always love you.
I will never leave you.
I live in you forever."
You bend over to kiss me one final time,
And I'm drowning in your eyes.
I'm falling into them, and I'm letting go.
I'll be there forever,
Waiting for you to join me.
