Once Upon a Time

"Once upon a time" Gibbs starts, "there was a castle and in it lived a prince"
"The prince had many royal subjects," Kate supplies, "a young and popular knight named Sir Dinozo, a brilliant storyteller called Ducky," Kate's audience giggled, "a beautiful and quirky witch who made different potions to send the bad men to the dungeon. Her name was Abigail, and a talented lord that explained things to the king and was an author in secret named Tim"
"The prince was in love with a beautiful princess name Katie-"
"Is that Mommy?" the brunette on the bed asks her wide smile easily charms her father into an answer.
"Yes that's mommy. Anyway the prince was afraid that Princess Katie would leave him all alone like all the other princesses had so he wouldn't tell her he loved her. An evil Knight, called Knight Ari tried to hurt Princess Katie. And the prince-"
"Prince Jethro" Kate says despite her husband's eyeball roll.
"Prince Jethro and his royal subjects saved Princess Katie. Prince Jethro told Princess Katie that he loved her and they got married and became King and Queen Gibbs" The silver haired man finishes.
"Then," Kate starts as she tucks the blanket further up around her daughter, "King Jethro and Queen Katie had a very pretty princess named Princess Marie Kelly"
"That's me," Marie pipes up, "I'm a princess."
"Yes you are your Daddy's little princess" Gibbs smiles as he kisses her cheeks.
Kate smiles and continues with her story, "then Princess Marie Kelly found a handsome prince and they lived happily ever after," Kate finishes.
"That was a good thory" their little girl says, her lisp turning the 's' to a 'th'.
"I'm glad now let's say our prayers and go to bed" Kate instructs.
Kate kneels at the side of the bed and she, her husband, and daughter say their prayers in unison. Kate gives her a peck on the check when they finish. Gibbs drops a simple kiss on her forehead.
"Night night Mommy and Daddy" Marie sings.
"Night Marie" Kate half whispers.
"Night little Princess," Gibbs says with affection.
"Good night Mr. Ducky," the little girl pats the fedora topped duck beside her, "night Mr. Timmy" she hugs the vest warring bear beside her, who also has a book in his lap, "night Mr. Nozo, night Miss Abby," she squeezes the swim trunk warring bear and the bat holding bear in turn, "sleep sweet Mr. and Mrs. Bunny," she kisses the bow topped bunny and the bunny's mate who wears a USMC hoodie"
The little girl sends one last wave to her Mommy and Daddy and falls happily asleep.
