Chapter 1:

TJ's P.O.V

I couldn't help but smile at my beautiful little girl as she slept quietly in the bed. She looked so peaceful and trouble free. She was lucky that she didn't know about what was going on onboard this tin can.

Tomorrow was going to be four months after her birth. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. We had used the communication stones to get Dr Huntley, an OB, to help with her birth. It had been pretty much trouble free and I was glad that her father had also been there. Everett has been so supportive and loving through all this, I can't believe that I had once considered never telling him that I was pregnant. As soon as I had seen her for the first time, I had known the perfect name for my little girl. Everett and I had been struggling to find a name for our baby for a while but I knew the perfect name that we both agreed on.

Lillian. Lillian Andrea Sofia Johansen.

Well we call called her Lily for short. That had been my great grandmother's name. Andrea was Everett's mothers name and we both loved the name Sofia. I glanced down at Lily again and gently stroked her short blonde hair. She had my hair and nose, but her father's eyes and lips. So far, having her onboard the ship wasn't as bad as I had feared when I was pregnant. We have gotten fresh fruit and other food from various planets we have visited, which Lily loved to eat. One of the civilian women sewed Lily some clothes from some spare fabric and she shared a bed with me.

Sure, it wasn't as good as Earth, but are making do with what we have and as long as Lily is happy- so am I.

Suddenly Lily stirred and slowly, she woke up. I walked over to her and scooped her up into my arms, giving her a warm cuddle. She looked up at me with her large brown eyes and gave me a slight smile. I thought I'd take her for a walk, before her feed. We were walking down the corridors and passed the observation deck when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure sitting alone, looking out at the brilliant, colourful lights of FTL.

I turned and looked properly and saw that it was Everett sitting on one of the benches. He had a blank, troubled expression on his face and seemed to be deep in thought. Concerned, I entered the room and made my way over to him.

"Hey" I said softly stopping a few metres away from him. He seemed to come out his thoughts and looked across at me, when he saw me and Lily, his expression softened and a small smile appeared.

"Hey" he replied, standing up and walked across to me. Lily grinned when she saw her Dad and Everett returned the smile and took Lily into his arms, tickling her on the stomach. Lily giggled and grinned even more.

"Everything ok?" Everett asked, looking up at me with a serious and concerned look in his eyes.

"Yeah yeah" I quickly reassured him "Lil and I were just going for a stroll and I saw you in here alone, so I thought I'd come in and check on you- are you ok? You looked kind of serious then".

"Yeah I'm fine" Everett told me "I was just thinking that all".

"Ok" I nodded, but I wasn't sure if I believed him.

Suddenly the familiar feeling of leaving FTL came over me and Everett's radio crackled to life a few seconds later.

"Colonel Young" said a familiar Scottish voice said "we've come out of FTL, I'm in the Gate room and the Stargate is starting to dial".

Everett placed Lily on his other hip and reached for the radio on belt.

"Alright Rush, I'll be right there". Everett gave me Lily and flashed me a smile before turning and leaving, headed for the Gate room.

I hesitated for a brief second before deciding to follow him. I was interested to see where the Gate was going to take us next. Maybe Lily would finally be able to get off this ship?
