A/N: Ok, this is my FIRST fanfic EVERRRRRRR. I was watching Riding in cars with boys (for the millionth time)and I really like Faye's speech about loving someone so much that your numb to it. I ALSO stole a line from a Dixie Chicks song. Bad me.
It's L/L. (of course, but I also like R/J's)
Lorelai didn't want to go home. She was to sad. Alex told her he loved her 3 nights ago. She said she loved him too. And at dinner that night, he broke up with her. She didn't know why. The words whirled past her. All he heard was "give our marriage a second chance" and "for the kids"
She saw she was near Lukes, so she sat on the front step. She burst into tears. Luke was inside, he saw her out there, crying. Luke opened the door
"Lorelai?" he said
"Yeah?" she responded, sobbing.
"Umm, do you want to come in?"
It was silent
"Yes" she finally said, sniffing.
He helped her up, and they sat down at the table.
"Alex broke up with me" Lorelai said
"Why!?" Luke asked her, as he got up to get her coffee and pie.
"He said something about giving his marriage a second chance, and about the kids. But I really think he didn't love me" she took a deep breath "And he told me he loved me, and I'm SO stupid for saying I loved him, because I don't love him. I love someone else!"
"Max?" he asked
"What?"
"You said you loved someone else, it's Max"
"No Luke, it's not. But the person I love, would A) Never love me back and B) I am to afraid to tell him. I know I love him, but I don't feel it."
"Well" he began "I love someone too. But we're all numb to love. Because Lorelai, love sucks"
She managed to laugh.
"The person I am numb to is perfect Lorelai."
"Why?"
"Well, I...the way she laughs, and talks, and smiles"
This was out of character for Luke. He would never talk about love, or be that sweet.
They sat in silence.
Lorelai didn't know what she was doing. It was all a blur. She was so upset, she blurted out
"Don't waste your heart on me, Luke. I'm not worth it!"
Luke dropped the dishes to the ground.
"What!?" he asked
She knew he wasn't talking about her, he couldn't have.
"OhmygodlukeI'msosorryIhavetogo" she grabbed her bag, and stnted out.
