"Uh... What is this?" Daiki questioned, staring into the now open box confusedly.
He looked up at his husband, who had been laughing uncontrollably for a few minutes now. For someone who was often described as red, he looked quite literally blue in the face. "Your, ahahaha, p-present of course! Happy birthday, D-daiki, hahaha!"
"No, but like," he began unsurely, "what is it?"
Daiki inched his hand in warily as if the item inside would bite him. He wasn't too far off the mark, though, because his hands caught hold of a furry tail, and what looked to be a stuffed animal was lifted out of the box.
"A panther," Taiga responded finally, having (maybe) gotten control of himself. "It's a stuffed Panther. I saw it and it reminded me of you!"
"Tch," he all but growled, ironically similar to the way a panther might, and turned his eyes towards the animal with disdain. "This stupid kitten reminded you of me?!"
"Aww," Taiga pouted, or at least tried to, because he was a bit too busy cracking up. "Does little Dai-chan not like his gift? I worked so hard to find a good one, too!"
"No," Daiki whispered, leaning in close to let his breath tickle Taiga's ear. It had the desired effect, the redheaded man going from almost giggly to rigid, a shiver visibly taking its time rolling down his back. "No, I love it... In fact, it's perfect, Tora-chan."
The moment was broken, roaring laughs coming from Daiki and a few spluttered curses coming from Taiga as he flicked the bluenette in the forehead. It became a game of cat and mouse, but Taiga caught up quickly, his husband already breathless, presumably thanks to the now choked noises of amusement being forced from his throat.
"Tch, I was just kidding Tora-chan, can't you take a joke?"
And thus the game began again, both unsure of how long it had lasted when it finally ended.
