A/N: I'M ALIVE! Yes, hello. I'm back after who-knows-how-long with my first fanfiction in ages. It's just a short drabble set after the episode Not What He Seems. Sort of spoilery, so don't read if you haven't seen it and don't want any spoilers. This is my first fanfiction in a long time, and my first with Gravity Falls, so it might be OOC but whatever. I did spell check it, but I didn't actually read over it myself, so it's completely possible there's still typos in it!
Okay, I think that's it!
DISCLAIMER (are these still a thing?): I do not own Gravity Falls or any of its characters. They all belong to the all-powerful mega-genius known as Alex Hirsch.

Dipper couldn't believe it.

He didn't believe a lot of things, actually. But it was probably more accurate to say he didn't know what to believe anymore.

The whole day was a blur, like a dream he had that he couldn't quite remember. It felt unreal, as if he was watching from someone else's point of view.

Oh, but it was real.

He'd been so stupid. How did he let this happen? And how could he not have seen this coming?

Stan was a con artist and a liar—that, he always knew. Why did he expect him to be any different around Dipper? He should have known his uncle was up to something. He always was. He had secrets, far too many for Dipper to count, and he'd bet that they all hadn't even come to light. He should have known there was more going on when Stan had first admitted to knowing about the paranormal side to Gravity Falls. But no, Dipper didn't even guess.

And what about Mabel? She was the one person he was absolutely sure he could trust. They'd grown so close over the summer. They'd been a team. They'd done so much together. Dipper was sure of her when he wasn't sure of anyone else. Mabel was there when he needed her—always. He didn't even hesitate when it came to his sister. He'd trusted her with everything.

And look where it had gotten him.

He gazed at the journal, hurt and betrayed.

He should've listened.

He could trust no one.

No one.
