Cambodia, why are you so hurt? Wonders Vietnam, still barely conscious after the war with America. Cambodia, what's happened to you? Your eyes are dead and so are many of your people.
Cambodia, what is it? Why are you in pain? Cambodia, why are you shouting the war cries of the Khmer Rouge? Who is Pol Pot?
Your body is scarred. Your hair's lost its luster, you can't move right.
You're malnourished. What is happening? Cambodia, answer me!
Cambodia, come back to the light. You're delirious. Eat this food. Please.
Where has your intelligence gone? You are illiterate again.
Why are you doing this? Why are you attacking my people? Why are you trying to hurt me? Why do you call me a Youn? Your eyes are dead and you act glad.
Cambodia, where are you? The real you. Why are you in the power of your new boss, Pol Pot? What has he done for you?
Why are you letting your temples be destroyed? Why are you gouging out your own skin?
Stop sending your remaining food to China in exchange for more weapons! You use those weapons to kill people, your own people suffering from hunger! Cambodia, don't do this. Why are you doing this?! Stop it!
Cambodia, I need to invade you. You've killed so many people. A quarter of your population is dead. All the rest are barely fed.
Cambodia, I'm sorry. I didn't want to do this.
Cambodia, please forgive me.
Come back to me.
The Khmer Rouge regime lasted from 1975 to 1979, taking over the former Government in a coup. In those four years, around 2 million or more were killed, out of 7 million people. They took all of the humans in the cities and into work camps, deeming it nessacary to return back to the Year 0, when Cambodia was purely agricultural. Their plan backfired spectacularly because they were in debt with China; the guns and ammunitions were from there, and so almost all the food had to be shipped to China. As a result, many died of starvation. It was eventually put to a halt by the Vietnamese; in Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge told the opressed people that the Youns [Vietnamese] would kill them. In actuality, what the Khmer Rouge did was provoke Vietnamese villages all along the shared border. Galvanized, the Vietnamese marched in, dethroned Pol Pot and generally liberated all the people. Cambodia has not been represented in Himaruya Hidekaz's webcomic, so I took the liberty of creating him. Yes, Cambodia is a him.
