DLC Announcement Party
"Hello, smashers!" The booming voice of the announcer echoed over the crowd of assorted characters, divided into separate groups, with one smasher at the head of each one. But at the very front of the crowd, there was a table with twelve characters seated around it. These twelve were the Origin Smashers, the first ones to be selected by Master Hand to fight each other in the universe of the Smash Brotherhood. Luigi, Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Captain Falcon, Ness, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, and Jigglypuff were talking excitedly amongst themselves at that table.
"I said, HELLO, SMASHERS!" the announcer called again, this time receiving a loud "HELLO!" back.
"As all of you know, today is finally the day when we will be announcing DLC characters. As a reminder, three of them will be veterans to the Smash Brotherhood, and one will be an entirely new character, from an entirely new franchise! Let's see who they are!" As the announcer said this, a bright light shone over the Smash Mansions large backyard, where the party was located, causing everyone to shield their eyes. When the light was gone, there were four gray trophies with a humanoid figure on top of each one. Excited whispering rose from the crowd.
"Up first, we have… a veteran of the glorious Melee days, Mewtwo!" said the announcer. An uproar of cheers rose from the many Pokemon in the crowd, some Assist Trophies. The first trophy glowed white, and transformed into Mewtwo, who walked into the crowd of Pokemon, greeting everyone.
"Ah, Charizard!" said Mewtwo to the red dragon, who was grinning. "Good to see you! Where are Ivysaur and Squirtle?"
"They are Assist Trophies now," said Charizard. "Let me introduce you to Lucario and Greninja." Charizard gestured towards the two blue Pokemon.
"I see you can use psychic energy like me," Mewtwo noted, as he shook Lucario's hand. "And you are obviously a very talented Pokemon!" Mewtwo greeted Greninja.
"Master Hand sure doesn't think so," laughed Greninja. "Oh, look. They're announcing the next fighter."
"Up next, an old fighter from the dark days of the Subspace Emissary, I give you Lucas!" The next statue turned into a young boy, who ran up to Ness at the table of Origin Smashers and gave him a big hug.
"It's so good to see you!" exclaimed Ness to Lucas. "I thought you might turn up eventually!"
"I guess the PSI still works, huh?" asked Lucas jokingly. The friends laughed. "I'm excited to see the new tricks you've learned while I was gone!"
"Another veteran from Melee, back for more, Roy seals the deal!" the announcer boomed. As the third statue turned into a young man with red hair, the Fire Emblem fighters broke out into a loud cheer.
"ROY'S OUR BOY! ROY'S OUR BOY!" Roy laughed and stepped towards the swordsmen(and women).
"Ha ha! I remember that! This is so great to be back! Who are they?" Roy asked Marth.
"The big one's Ike, the twins are Robin, and the girl that looks kinda like me is Lucina." replied Marth.
"Nice to meet you guys, I'm Roy. I was in Melee with your friend Marth here. Thanks for the warm welcome!" chuckled Roy.
"And now…" interrupted the announcer. "The moment you have all been waiting for…" A hush fell over the crowd. "A new smasher, but no stranger to fighting…" Little Mac looked hopeful. "I give you… RYU!" The final trophy turned into a tall man in a white fighting uniform and red boxing gloves. Little Mac went straight towards him.
"Hey! I'm Mac. Nice to meet you! You look like you can really fight!" said Little Mac.
"Well, I'm from Street Fighter, so of course I can," replied Ryu, smiling at his fellow fighter. "It's great to be here. I'm getting bored of beating up Ken anyways!" Little Mac laughed, and the two walked away, chatting happily at the party.
