It all started on a Monday. Kuki Sakura wanted more than anything to be with her love, Tomi. She had heard from numerous people that he was a jerk- cheating on ALL of his girlfriends, even some girls who were her best friends, still… she fell in love with him.
Every day she hurt herself because she believed…no. She KNEW that it was all wrong. She knew that her infatuation was all wrong. Everyday the blood merged with her endless tears… Every night her scars haunted her as she stared at Tomi's photograph. Everyday the madness of going to school in that drab, gray building –boys on one side, girls on the other—blended in surreality . One day she decided enough was enough.
Soon, it was another one of those mad, melancholy Mondays. As drab as the day was long. Kuki was ready to proclaim her love—no matter what anyone said. Kuki started to say something to Tomi, but the headmistress yelled at her… The students had to be quiet. No speaking was allowed, unless you were answering a question. Her eyes scanned the crowd in the cold, deep, unlimited longing… the pallid goldenness of her eyes eerily fixed themselves upon not looking at Tomi. Now she was in class and it seemed almost impossible not to look at his beautiful dark eyes and his smooth, pale skin. It was all too much.
Kuki watched Tomi out of the corner of her eye. He had just taken a squeeze bottle of VO5 styling product out of his book bag. She couldn't't help but grin as he went underneath the wooden surface of his school deck and ran his fingers through his hair. He passed the bottle to her, and she rebelliously spiked the ends of HER hair as well. And all was good as the two of them resurfaced.
All was good as they ran out of the room, and out of the school… down the street in wide grins. "No matter what people say" Kuki thought " I will always love Tomi-kun." And as they laughed at the headmistress who shouted at them with all her trembling rage, Kuki no longer felt so sad…She finally did belong to someone. And it all started on a Monday.
