A/N: Another Rose/10 one shot that I found floating around on my computer, and Im finally going to work on Jealousy of a Timelord because I believe its been on hiatus far too long and now I have nothing to do I have plenty of time to do it :-) So, this is just something that I figured Id upload, trying to convey the side of the Doctor which he keeps hidden because I believe thats the most critical side to him.
Disclaimer: Yeah, the norm, Doctor Who belongs to the BBC ... no matter how much I wish it was mine.
He watched her sleep, just because he could.
He watched her chest move up and down slowly as she breathed in and out, her eyelids flickered which told him that she was dreaming and he always hoped it would be a happy dream, he couldn't stand it if it wasn't.
He didn't sleep, he never did, he'd rather not it just wasted time, the only problem with travelling with humans was that they needed ridiculous things like sleep.
He could forgive her though, forgive her of everything that made her so human because he loved her anyway. She was the most beautiful person in his life, the most beautiful person in the entire of creation, the entire of the universe and he would never give her up for anything. He smiled at her, he couldn't help but do it, even just thinking of her made him smile, made him fall in love time again and he was ok with it. He was ok with being in love, ok with the fall he may have to take, ok that he knew it was against all the rules, and he was ok with breaking them.
So he watched her sleep, he did it every night, just to have that time with her that no one else could see, that time where he didn't have to talk clever words, make up reasons or run for their lives, it was just that time when he could bask in the beauty of her, that time was his.
If he had the choice, he would watch her sleep forever.
