I wrote this a while ago, most of it before reading Breaking Dawn (hearing about it from a friend). It was obviously edited recently when I came across it. Please R & R.

After coming close to losing his love forever, Edward paced back and forth in the small room as Bella continued in her deep sleep of her slow transformation. His family watched and listened to his anxiety from outside of the room. Eventually Alice got fed up with her worried brother. She leaned against the doorframe and watched the continued pacing, tapping her fingers on her folded arms. It took a moment for the man, always aware of his surroundings, to notice her presence.

"What is it Alice?" he asked, sounding tired.

"You need to relax; take a break for a while. Your continuous shuffling is starting to become irritating."

"NO, I am not leaving her side."

Alice casually walked up to her brother. Putting a hand on his arm, she replied softly, "Bella will be fine." Edward shared a vision of his lovely wife, awake and well. "Please come downstairs for a little bit and join me in a game of chess."

Edward looked over to Bella, curled up in fetal position. He hated to see her suffering so.

"Please, Edward. It will help calm Jasper and everyone else's nerves, including your own."

He looked again at his unconscious wife.

"Alright, but not for very long,"

Soon after, the two began their game. Emmett and Jasper sat on a nearby sofa with the television on, discussing different bets and challenges. Rosalie was helping Esme with Renesmee while Carlisle once again took her measurements in the other room. Instead of focusing on the game, Edwards thoughts tended to drift elsewhere; his wife's shallow breathing, his family fussing over his daughter, and the reason for a certain werewolf to still be lingering around the house.

"Edward," Alice began, helping him snap back to his surroundings, "Are you plan on doing something?"

"What, like taking your bishop?" he asked as he took his turn.

Alice shook her head. "No, you're planning on telling Bella a certain something after she wakes up..."

"Where are you heading at?" he asked an annoyed tone, studying her closely.

She continued to have a faraway look. "It's something about the werewolf—"

"You don't know anything about what's going on." Edward snapped. Emmett and Jasper stopped their conversation and listened intently.

"So it is about him." Alice declared, her eyes lit.

"What's going on?" Rosalie asked, walking into the sight of Edward glaring at an excited Alice.

"Nothing," Edward angrily muttered.

"Oh, he thinks the werewolf is in love with the baby." Alice answered matter-of-factly.

"What?" Emmett bursted out, his eyes wide and jaw dropped.

"You're joking right?" Rosalie asked with surprise.

Edward got ready to pounce on the petite girl across from him. With a big grin on her face, Alice told him, "I don't think you're really going to do anything to me." He gave up his position and sat straight, rolling his eyes.

"Well, I doubt that Bella would be too angry at the mutt. I mean, she's friends with him and all." Jasper began thoughtfully.

Emmett quickly added, "I bet that she would be freaked out and try to kill him."

"Oh, it's on." Jasper challenged his zealous brother.

"I don't think that you should tell Bella." Rosalie replied, "Let her figure it out on her own. I would take her a while anyway." Edward glared at Rosalie before looking at the others.

"Okay, fine!" Edward huffed. "I won't say anything to her, but that means any of you are not to be babbling it to her or anyone else, right?" They all nodded and smiled.

Alice stood up and left the room gracefully. Down the hall, she yelled, "Carlisle, Esme! Guess what…"

Emmett, followed by the rest could not resist snickering. Edward let out a big sigh as he rolled his eyes.

"Great,"
