When I was a young boy L took me and the cotton headed pajama-wearing twit Near into the city of Japan, to see a gathering of those whom had turned their back on what justice really meant. It had been three years since the "God" Kira took power over the world by storm. He had a plan you see to rid the world of evil, punish all criminals and those whom have done evil to death. Death by heart attack, disiese, accidents, and more twisted ways as of recent. L is the leader of the rebellion. He and his God father Watari. L has brilliant mind and he with the right resources can take down Kira formerly known as Light Yagami, I truly believe it. L will set things right I know he will. We watch people march down the street dressed in red holding signs showing their dedication to our self-proclaimed God. Flags waved in the street bearing only a red banner with black lettering stating – Kira is Justice – It made me want to spit but I reserved myself even in childhood to only sneer. Any move or disrespect to Kira ended in immediate death. He had record of all of our names and faces I could not even begin to imagine how his computer and records didn't crash.
L watched the ordeal with his blank eyes a look of… well nothingness painted across his face. He finally looked down at us. Near looked out with the same expression as L I couldn't understand how they did it. Some called me emotional others called me crazy I took both in stride.
"Mihial, Near, listen to me, very closely." I looked up and nodded feeling nothing but intrigued to know what L had brought us such a place to show or tell us. He said, "Son, when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten and the damned?" He said, "Will you defeat them, your demons and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made? Because one day, I'll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer, to join the Black Parade." I tried to soak in everything he had said. I couldn't believe it. I knew my role in all of this, if L died or was unable to lead me or Near were meant to lead the revolution. I couldn't comprehend a lot of this as a child but I knew what he wanted to hear.
"Yes L, I will. You can count on me." I said strongly but on the inside I was shaking like a leaf.
