I wake up in my bed at around 4:00 in the morning, a regular... But I was still really tired.. I was scared for the reaping, I mean I was going to volunteer anyways but it being a week away I needed to practice so I can come home and bring pride and glory to my district and my family. I got out of bed and put an old pair of jeans and a cyan top on along with my belt with all my knives. I put my hair in its regular, boring ponytail and quickly brushed my teeth. I slid down the staircase and grabbed a granola bar, "Clove honey, you need more to eat! If you are going into that foolish hunger games then you need to beef up you are as skinny as a stick!" I glared at my mom, "Mom I'm FINE if i want to beef up i'll do it at the capitol." She frowned at me as I walked out. My sister chased after me,"Clove! Wait!" I turned around, my sister is the only one in my family that is regularly nice to me,"Here, it'll be cold, plus I think you won't be coming home for a while so I packed you lunch." She handed me her favorite dark blue sweater (I don't own any jackets) and a lunch. "Thanks Ara!" I said hugging her,"No problem Clove!" She said hugging me back,"Now be careful." She said walking back inside. I smiled walking towards the gate. I looked around and made sure nobody was there and quickly hopped the electric fence. This is very illegal but my dad is head peacekeeper, who cares then?

While I am throwing my knives accuratley.. As always, I heard the sharp cling of a sword hitting a tree. I scramble into a thick bush and peek over the dark leaves, Ugh its Cato Larek, the brother of the man who broke my sister's heart. I immediatley sighed, bad idea he looked over and saw me. I scrambled out of the bush but while i was moving so fast I scraped my leg on a really sharp thorn and i was bleeding... Alot. He ran over,"Oh my god! Are you okay?" He knelt over and put a clean cloth he had in his bag on my wound,"Im Cato Larek.. I think I know you! Are you Ara's sister? Clove right?" I scowled and sighed,"Yes and you are the brother of the horrible man who broke my sister's heart?" He stared at me,"Yeah.." I looked at him," YEAH!? I don't know if I can trust you." I threw the bloody cloth at him and tried to get up, but it was stinging really bad! I dropped down as he put water on the cloth and put it back on my leg," Man you move quickly." I stare at him, "Fine I'll trust you but if you back stab me I will really stab you." I said holding up my knife. He laughed and got up,"So you think you will be able to walk?" I nodded and stood up, that water must have been magic! His family is from the capitol so I kind of expected it,"Wow Cato! My leg isn't scraped up as bad anymore! its healing!" He grinned,"Yeah its capitol water, that stuff never goes wrong but I am going to volunteer this year to show my family I can actually survive!" I looked up at him, "Me too.." He frowned, "Well that's not good.." I dropped the subject and killed a big, fat rabbit that ran by us, "Nice shot Clover." He said looking at me, I actually smiled but I caught myself and looked away. He stared at me," Oh come on Clove! I saw you smile!" He smiled and walked towards me to turn me around. "Wow you really are nothing like your sister.. AT ALL! Your really hard to crack!" I scowled and started getting angry," I crack when I know for sure the person I am with is one to trust!" I pushed his hand off of my shoulder and ran away towards my house,"WAIT CLOVE!" He shouts after me," I'm nothing like my brother!" I stop and stare at the ground. He finally catches up to me panting hard. I look at him, "Really?" He stares at my dark brown eyes," Really."
