A Fool's Game
Here we stand, right beneath you.
Watching you create in all that you don't do.
Here we stare at how you live.
What more can you take? What else can't you give?
Fiery chains of regret and rage bind me close to this blank page.
I am the life never lived.
Can you justify my punishment, unable to forgive?
We lurk in the shadows of the most silent fears.
The night surrounds us, our own demons appear.
Skin pealing on a bloody stage. (Keep clapping Lucy, keep clapping)
He laughs at us as we cry for the age.
Do you know how it feels to suffer without an end?
Do you know what it's like to know wounds can't mend?
A life forsaken at such a perfect time.
But don't demons deserve it when they're afraid to die?
No consequences (we think) for our actions and deeds.
When really it is he who decides what we will be,
now and forever in this dark, pure hell.
That's what we get for not wishing others well.
Suffer for your mistakes, bend the rules.
Then you can come suffer with us…
And play the game of fools.
