There Was Only Love
AN: This is for Evide who thought my other one-shot was very short. This is just as short but just for you.
Disclaimer: If you think I could possibly own Digimon you're even crazier then I am.
Warning: It could be KouKou
Summery: Kouji resents never showing the world how much he loves his brother.
Kouji was not accustomed to physical contact he had not grown up in a very affectionate household, or a very loving one for that matter, and it was this simple fact that brought about many an awkward situations between him and his brother. Kouichi was a very expressive person, having grown up with his mother and grandmother he was used to expressing his affection with hugs and verbal declarations so much so that once when Izumi had returned from a month long trip he didn't hesitate to welcome her back with a kiss on the cheek. The twins were about a different as could be when it came to signs of affection, Kouji would respond to a hug with a shutter or a threat whilst Kouichi would respond with a laugh and return hug. It was his brother's open signs of affection that enforced Kouji's hate of them.
Kouichi would never hesitate to return Takuya's one armed hugs that were a common greeting where the brunette was concerned, or the half yelled declarations of "I love ya buddy!". Nor would he think twice about leaning back against Junpei's larger frame when the elder boy would read over Kouichi's shoulder. Izumi had been delighted when one day she'd greeted Kouichi with her family's traditional kiss on each cheek and he had returned it without so much as a questioning glance and Tomoki often found comfort dosing in the warrior of darkness's arms when their group meetings ran late. Kouji hated watching the open displays of affection shared between the other warriors, but then envy and hate did go hand in hand.
Kouji could never bring himself to relax when Kouichi would greet him with quick hugs, nor could he return the sweet 'I love you's his brother would almost coo to him at seemingly random moments. It hurt to see that the others were able to hug, hold, and love Kouichi when he could do little more then nod when shown affection. Kouji wished he could scoop his brother up into a true hug, or kiss and nuzzle his cheeks, he wished he could look into Kouichi's identical blue eyes and tell him just how much he loved him and all the crazy things he'd do to make him happy. Kouji resented his friends and his father.
Kouji resented his father and friends, but he still cared about them and he still loved being around them, it just didn't seem fair that the only times he could be close to Kouichi were the nights when even the moon could not bare witness to their union. The nights when they would curl up together on one of their beds and let their bodies lay against each other as they had been intended, when they would let their blankets and clothes tangle themselves around them because no one else was home. On those nights when their fingers would lock together and their breath would mingle as they pressed their foreheads together and looked into half closed eyes. Their thoughts would leave them, forgiveness would come, and on the moonless nights there was only love.
