Someone To Lean On

It was the middle of July - a hot and humid day. Soft cries could be heard in a small room facing the setting sun. Bra Briefs was laying on her bed curled up in a ball next to her old, worn teddy bear. The things in her life had just gotten back to normal. However, less than 2 months ago her loving father was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Bra's shiny, cerulean blue hair fell around her face as she continued to cry her endless tears of sorrow. Her father was a wonderful and caring man. Vegeta, Bra's dad, loved his daughter very much. He would willingly die for the sake of Bra's happiness.
The eightteen year old jumped when her door opened. She turned around and smiled for the first time that day. Her red, puffy blue eyes twinkled when she ran into the arms of her lover. Almost immediatly, Son Goten started to kiss away Bra's tears that slid down her soft cheeks. The young, dark haired man wrapped one arm around Bra's lithe body while the other went straight to her hair.
After the death of Bra's mother, Bulma Briefs, three years ago nothing in her life had been the same. Beginning with her grades. Bra was a freshman at Shinsha University in Osaka Fu, Japan. She was forced to drop her major once the dean saw a dramatic decrease in her grades. One year after Bulma's death Trunks Briefs, Bra's older brother, left to go overseas for a trip conserning the family business he had taken over from his mother. Two days later the New York Police Department called and informed the family of Trunks's death. His plane had been shot down, and crashed in the Antlantic Ocean.
Bra snuggled into Goten's warm embrace. Even though he was nine years older than she was, Bra still loved him. Her father had greatly disapproved of their relationship. The one thing she didn't like was lying to her father. Bra had gone behind her father's back several times with Goten. She knew that her father wasn't stupid. Vegeta was aware of the whole 'bonding' situation, and he was disgusted by it. When Bra told her father that she and Goten were getting married, Vegeta wasn't too happy about that. He had had a stroke that day, and was carried to the hospital. That's when they found the tumor in his brain.
Bra looked into Goten's dark, soothing eyes, and placed a soft kiss on his lips. She knew that her father was going to die, but at least she would have someone to comfort her. Goten promised Bra from day one that he would never leave her side, and she knew it was true. They got up and walked out of Bra's room together, hand in hand, to go see her father.
Now starts another obstical for the young, tenderhearted teenager ...
