"Subject Classical:One has been started. Exposure has begun and Classical:One has been given access to necessary tools. Development was observed at 0200 hours after self-inflicted sleep deprivation. Subject has been using Instrument:piano since then, approximately four hours."
The bot reported in its usual monotone. The man nodded.
"So soon. Has any Energy been detected?"
The bot paused as it reviewed its files.
"A minuscule spark at 0400 hours. Observing the footage, it appeared to be caused by Emotion:frustration. Subject began improving shortly after."
STOP BEGIN TRANSMISSION
She couldn't get it out of her head. Her throat was making odd noises, sounding exactly like what she had produced on the black and white oddly shaped Box. She flexed her fingers and frowned. Something had felt off, and she had felt a burst of something in her fingers. She poked at a rectangle on The Box. It sounded, and she nearly shivered. A vaguely crazed light in her eyes glimmered as she descended on The Box.
The man stared at the footage, impressed. Three days, and the Classical:One had been working as if possessed. Energy had been detected at almost a constant rate now, sustaining the Subject while only on a few hours of sleep. Truly amazing. He'd have to pay a visit to his favorite Subject, it seemed.
She flinched as the hole opened. She quivered, clutching the edge of The Box as That Man stepped in. That Man smiled, gentle and cold at once.
"How do you like it?"
She opened her mouth, then quickly shut it. She remembered That Man. It was better not to say anything, or else. That Man frowned.
"Hm. Alright."
That Man walked out of the hole, and she nearly sagged against The Box in relief.
He frowned. Time to check the progress of the Subject Classical:Two, then.

Energy is equivalent to chakra, in case you were wondering. The Classical:One has a limited vocabulary, so I tried my best. I'm actually not really sure who That Man and Subject Classical:One are. Maybe I won't name them. I guess I'll try something new? Or you can comment who you'd like to see in those roles. There will be some more familiar and concrete characters later.
