Max sat back against a tree and looked up at the blue sky peeping threw the leaf's. She didn't know why, but being in the woods felt like home. But this day was different. She pulled her head forward and then slammed it back into the tree behind her. Today was a rough day, and quiet frankly, she didn't know how to deal. She let tears stream down her face unchecked as she repeated the slamming motion a few more times. She felt like a little teenager throwing a fit in her bedroom.
"Its not fair!" She whispered as she finally let herself burst into tears. A Transgenic isn't suppose to cry, a Transgenic is only allowed to she'd a tear and whisper a small goodbye! She was tired of whispering!
"Why couldn't you just be normal, HUH? Why couldn't you just be OKAY!?" She screamed out at the passing clouds! Max sobbed silently to herself for what seemed like hours. Finally she set a white rose on the ground where she was sitting as she got up. She looked down at the spot and wiped away her tears.
"I love you Ben, you were a good soldier! But you were even a better brother..." Max struggled to keep her straight face. "Thank you for all the stories and great memories you've left me. I will try to let go of the bad ones, and hold the good ones close to my heart!" Max let a small tear fall to the ground below. Then she straightened her stance and saluted the tree. With that she turned her heel and was walking threw the woods. It had been 2 years on this very day that she was forced to take her brothers life. And that was the very spot on this day 2 years ago that her brother took his last breath.

Alec reached out and tucked Max under his arm and pulled her in for a embrace. Max let Alec consul her for a moment, then she did the only thing she always did. She let the mask cover all her pain!
"You okay Maxie?" Alec whispered, as Max lifted his arm up and slid out of the embrace. Max put on her brightest, biggest smile and gave Alec a little wink.
"I'm always okay" She grinned as she walked away.
