Ollivander sighed as yet another wizard parent went away in tears because their child was left handed. A bunch of morons, he thought. Being left handed had absolutly nothing to do with power, ability, or even a Wzard or Witch being light or dark. Bloody fools!

The whole, "Left handed Wizards are evil" had stemed form the French. Hardly a surprise, all thins considered. They had a word meaning left that had ended up in the English dictionary and "sinister" and every one had begun to take it as a bad omen. it hurt his head to even think of. Voldemort was right handed, after all. Ollivander knew that more than anyone. He remember everything about every one that ever came in his shop if it involved their wand, and they hand they weilded it with was important. To a point.

The hand the wand was weilded with had little more to do with anything beyond the lenght of the wand. On average, a left-handed person's wand had to be held slightly differently that a right handed person's wand. It was the same concept as gripping a quill or pencil. Why was it, then, that no one seemed to understand that? Just because left handed people were a little more rare. . . Honestly.

He'd ever seen parents screaming that their child would never be left handed! Okay, that was ridiclous. Serverus was left handed--okay, that was hardly a good point, but so was James Potter! Harry was not, but he got that feature from his mother. Minerva McGonagall was a lefty, as was Salazar Slytherin AND Gordric Gryffindor. Didn't that put the whole "Leftys are evil" group to shame?

Ollivander KNEW it was silly to be angry about, but he couldn't help it. All those poor children thinking something was wrong with them for being left-handed when it was all superstitius malarky. Like friday the thirteenth. Albus Dumbledore was born on friday the thirteenth, and so was Remus Lupin--okay, another bad example. A werewolf was not something most parents wanted their children to be.

He shook his head and sighed. Really, wizards and witches SHOULD know better. They did, after all, handle magic all the time.

Ollivander finally shook his head. He lived in a society of nutters.

(A/N) Okay, I was reading a fic about Harry being left handed (he's not, that's a fact) but really! They changed his wand and everything! Or, bad wizards are left handed (I see lots of those too) and as a proud lefty, I just HAD to jump to the challenge and write this bit of drabble to defend the leftys honour. I hope I didn't offend anyone, it wasn't my intent if I did, and part of it may be somewhat amusing. And I have school and it's late, so. . . off to bed with me!

Review, please. And hopefully no flames. I am aware I've done better, but my muse was bothering me! It's not spell checked either, so. . . hopefully it's not bad. I'll re-check it tommorrow and if it's bad, I'll just re-post.

Ja ne!
