Hello everyone, this is a note for any previous reader of "The cat and the Bug" fanfiction, if you were not a reader of that fanfiction feel free to skip this little note and move on to the actual fanfiction. For those previous readers I apologize for deleting that fanfiction however as an author I basically started that fic off not knowing where it was going and wasn't sure where to go with it. This one however I wanted to write and actually have something in mind for it so I hope you'll forgive me and enjoy this one. Take care,
A broken Ladybug Chapter 1

The sky was dipping into a dark blue, the city lights mirrored the stars in the sky. Although Paris was just another city it was one of the most prettiest. The moon shined bright in the sky and although it was a cool night because it was fall, the night was still beautiful.
Ladybug was sitting on the very top of the Eiffel tower, the highest point, somewhere where nobody would be able to bother her. A place where no civilians could come and bug her with questions, not that she minded just….right now she needed time to think.
She sighed resting her round chawline in her cold ladybug hands. Her blue bell eyes stared through her mask, they held a strong sadness like her heart that felt cold and low. She lightly tapped her heel against the medal of the towers structure.
She closed her eyes feeling the cold wind brush against the exposed skin of her face. She could see it, the events from earlier today.
She had just gotten to class as late as she usually did, ignoring the usual annoyed look Ms. Bustier gave her she had sat down in her seat next to Alia who was talking to Nino.
"What's going on?" Marinette had asked putting her bag up as if it would prevent anyone from hearing her. Alia and Nino both looked at her seeming contempt on whatever it was they were talking about. Alia honestly seemed more curious than anything.
"You didn't hear?" Alia asked with her eyebrow raised.
"Hear about what?"
"Where getting a new student" Nino interjected.
"Really? Do you know who it is?" The couple shook their heads, Marinette thought they were so cute and in sinc. She hoped one day her and Adrien would have something like that.
"Marinette if you're done talking back there may I get on with class?" Ms. Bustier had asked with her hands on her hips. Marinette looked around seeing all the eyes on her, she smiled nervously before saying,
"Y-yes s-sorry Ma'am."
Ms. Bustier strained up and cleared her throat. She surveyed the class and knew what was on everyone's mind.
"As you all know we have a new student," She paused looking to the door, "If you'll please enter now," Everyone waited in anticipation wondering who this mysterious student was, as expected when she entered everyone was clueless because they hadn't known who she was….however that wasn't everyone's reaction.
Marinette stared in horror, her jaw had dropped as well as her heart. Adrien was also rather shocked but he didn't look pale or terrified not like Marinette behind him.
The girl looked at her new classmates with a that usal serious expression she always had. Her short blue hair was neat as always and she was wearing a white blazer and skirt with a black dress shirt on and a red tie. Before the teacher could get a word out the girl simply said,
"Kagami. It's nice to meet you all." She glanced at Adrien not hesitating to give him a smile and a wink. She liked him, and she knew he may or may not have a thing for her. She liked him and unlike Marinette she wasn't afraid to show it.
She didn't hesitate.
Marinette could do nothing but watch, her heart felt like a stone dropping as she saw Adrien's cheeks turn red and he returned Kagami's confident smile.
"So," Kagami said looking at the teacher not hesitating in the slightest. "Where do I sit." The teacher held her chin. "You can sit behind Marinette, there's a spare seat next to Kim." The teacher said pointing. Kagami made her way to the seat, she shot Marinette a look, not so much a dirty look but more of a warning. A warning or a challenge that Adrien was hers unless Marinette was brave enough to do anything about it.
The cold wind blew in her ear bringing her back, her eyes opened and she gazed out upon the city once more, the city of lights, of love. This was a city of love, but there was nobody for her. The one person she loved was being stolen right away right in front of her and there was nothing she could do. She was too scared, and even if she wanted to what was the point? Adrien only ever saw her as a friend and nothing more. It was different with Kagami, he blushed around her and smiled and he actually liked her he didn't just see her as a friend.
….Maybe it was time she moved on.
The problem was….
She didn't know how.
"I should get going...it's getting late…" Marinette told herself her eyes remaining on her dangling feet. A part of her wished Chat Noir was here, even though he was a flirt he was someone she could talk to. Someone who didn't judge her, he cared about her.
It might of just been the feeling of heartbreak but Marinette wanted to be comforted…..by
Chat. She hated admitting that to herself….but it's what she was feeling right now. Maybe she was just being emotional right now, besides it wasn't fair for her to suddenly start paying attention to Chat and returning his flirting just because someone she liked was out of her reach.
Her head hurt, she didn't want to think anymore she felt drained and tired she just wanted to go home and sleep.
She stood up letting out another sigh, it was as if the energy was gone from her. She no longer held that smile, just a blank expression. She swung her yo-yo into the night and headed for home…..

"Spots off." Marinette said landing in her on her bed and closing the hatch.
"Marinette…." Tiki said worried but Marinette was already getting into bed and pulling the covers over her. She hadn't even changed into pajamas she was still wearing her jacket from today. "Are you alright…?" Tiki asked flying over to Marinette. Her eyelids were half closed, her lips drooped her hair was messy, her eyes red and her face was void of any color.
Marinette turned away from Tiki pulling the covers over her head.
"Yeah...Tiki.." She sounded tired...she sounded drained. It sounded like all the motivation and happiness had been sucked out of her personality. "I'm just tired…"
"Marinette….do you wanna talk about it?" Tiki offered concerned.
"No...Tiki I just want to sleep. Goodnight." Marinette turned out the lights,
"...Goodnight Marinette."
