The End of Forever

As Leah stands on the edge of the cliff, threatening to jump, Jacob can't help but think of when she promised him forever.

The promise of forever was so unlike Leah, but Jacob took her word for it anyways. He, too, promised her forever. And until now, they had both kept the promise.

Until now, forever had no end.

But now, with Leah standing by the cliff and Jacob watching her, helpless, the end of forever is crashing down on them as powerfully as the rain pouring on their heads.

Jacob watches Leah standing there, with her arms stretched out behind her, and her wet hair blowing in the violent wind, and he knows that he has to do something.

"Leah," he croaks out. "You promised me forever."

Leah turns to look at Jacob. Her eyes are harsh and cold. The words coming out of her mouth match her eyes.

"I lied," she snaps.

And then she jumps.

(A/N: I have no idea why writing this kind of thing is so appealing to me. It's just fun to write. I like all the angsty-ness. And apparently angsty isn't a word. I didn't know that. Reviews are love!)
