A/N: Ha, well…here we are. My first fanfic. Took me long enough since I'm a long time
reader and a first time writer….but I'll promise you I'll try my best. This is a one-shot in
response to CrimsonWhisper's forbidden child challenge. And yes, it's an AU. Here's
the summary:
Sango has finished high school and is now preparing to go to college. A Sadden Sango is walking home from saying goodbye to some friends, she comes across someone who she thought she wouldn't be able to say goodbye to….
Disclaimer: I don't own Sango from Inuyasha or Hiei from Yu Hakusho.
Now I happily present to you: His Goodbye
It was 10:00 pm on a Thursday night, and Sango was traveling through the star-lit streets of her neighborhood. She was wearing a simple pair of jeans with a black short-sleeve shirt that had pink sleeves. She was walking back from the Kendo that she used to go to almost everyday to practice her fighting skills. Sure she was the only girl there and didn't really like any of the other boys there, well, all except one. But she didn't want to think about that now.
She had visited the Kendo to say goodbye to the people who worked there and thank them for all they had done for her since she would be leaving for college the next day. She was going abroad for college since she was interested in other cultures and wanted to learn more about them, so Sango chose a college in America. There wasn't a certain person at the Kendo that Sango was particularly looking for, but she figured he wouldn't be there. He knew that she
was leaving the next day. She knew that he most likely didn't care since he wasn't really one
to be the 'caring' type. Well, on the outside at least.
Sango sighed to herself as she turned another corner, getting closer to her home, which meant getting closer to tomorrow and her leaving the country for another one. She stopped once she saw a bench though. Sango sat down, closing her eyes and just taking in her surroundings, since she wouldn't see them for a long time. Looking around, she fiddled with a small charm on the bracelet that was on her right hand was a small dragon, something that he had given her.
She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and letting it out. Her eyes remained closed though, for she heard a noise, a small noise, behind her. She smirked, thinking it was one of her friends trying to scare her one last time. Letting out a giggle, she opened to her eyes only to be met with crimson ones. Sango felt her eyes get big. "Hi-"
"Shh," he responded, cutting her off. Hiei gave her an egotistic smirk since he knew that he had surprised her. She glared at him for that smile, but he knew that she was happy to see him. "Normally, I don't say goodbye, but since you have proven yourself worthy…" Hiei leaned in and gave her a sweet little kiss on the mouth, something that they kept between the two of them, his kind side that is. "Goodbye….Sango."
And with that, Hiei backed away and began to walk in the opposite direction of her house. As he turned the corner and left her vision, since she had watched him the whole time trying to burn his physic into her memory, Sango smiled and shook her head as she stood up, knowing that she would miss him greatly. As she began to walk toward her house once again, Sango began to fiddle with her bracelet once again, but felt something different. She held the bracelet up to her eyes only to see a small boomerang charm hanging simply next to the dragon charm. Two simple words slipped out of Sango's mouth as her smile grew wider.
"Sneaky bastard."
