Mario accompanied with Luigi were, once again, at Bowser's castle to save the Princess. Mario jumped on a Goomba and felt his enemy becoming a pile under his feet. A small green shield rushed next to him and knocked a Flying Goomba out. "Good job, Luigi" Mario said. They keep sweeping their enemies and made their way to the final huge door.
"Here we are" said Luigi and smiled. As he was talking his eye fell on a ? Block they had missed. "We better check that out, any boost-up is making our way easier!". Mario walks under the block as Luigi watches closely. He rises his arm and his fingers shape a pouch and they slowly decrease the distance between them and the orange square.
Time slowed down. The Block is hit. It was lifted in the air and then darkened from sadness. A strange thing jumped from its inside. It stood there, waiting. Time returned to normal. "What's this?" Mario wondered.
"It looks like a pyramid..." Luigi said. Suddenly, time completely stopped. A small eye appeared on the pyramid. Its eyelid moved slowly and the dark pupil glanced at the two brothers. It sensed the bond between them and it got jealous. Its color turned green and shined under the torches' light.
"I demand you" a hoarse voice sounded "to fade into nothingness, to die suffering by pain" the strange creature moved. Just a few steps but enough to make Luigi scream scared. The eye slowly moved to his side. Luigi freaked out, he started running as fast as he could, anywhere but there. "Fool!" the voice echoed between the walls. A loud noise sounded and Mario's eyes gazed on his brother bone roll near his foot. The huge Thwomp soared back to its position while drops of blood were falling under it.
"Now, Mario" the voice said "Do it. Use this power-up, won't you?".
