Disclaimer: I own but a heart of raging passion for NBC's Chuck. Lol jk. (No, seriously, this show is awesome.)

One Morgan Guillermo Grimes did not whimper as he was stalked by one angry John Casey aka Alex Coburn. Morgan steadily backed out of the room, down the hallway and towards the door.

John Casey aka Alex Coburn let a primal rumble vibrate in his throat.

"If you didn't break her heart",

Morgan Guillermo Grimes was backed into the wall.

"Then why would she hope to see you"

An arm trapped Morgan Guillermo Grimes in place.

"after I was done with you?"

John snarled. Morgan shook his head.

"Well, I don't know! I don't know, Case, I-her exact words were that maybe after you were finished with me, we could hang, and do something fun because we're still close-"

John growled.

"-friends. She was really cool about it, I mean not like apathetic or wounded cool, she was okay. With an understanding tone and nodding head and everything. She sounded not heart-broken- she didn't sound like that, like heart-broken at all, man! She didn't! Why -didn't...why didn't she" Morgan puzzled.

"Why would she indeed", John wondered aloud, still inching towards a nervous Morgan Grimes.

"Joh-n. John, look at me. John, I know that you didn't like me anywhere near your daughter (eeerrrr), less than you like me, but somewhere, deep down there, buddy, you- you don't want to see me hurt. Because that would make people sad, and making people sad isn't something that John Casey wants, I mean, come on man, how many missions have we had each other's backs on, huh? We're friends, good friends, even. We have a domestic partnership together, man-"

John growled.

"You've been growling a lot there, more than usual come on, we're cool, right? Always have been"

Casey tilted his head in the quintessential confused expression; the face of a predator failing to understand the nonsensical actions of his prey.

Morgan took the advantage quickly. He cleared his throat.

"Okay, at first you were Casey the crazy mean scary guy living next door to chuck, then you were Casey, the man I could count on, and as time passed, you were there and you were there for everyone, I mean you have more life experience than the rest of us do, and you were like an older figure I mean you gave fatherly advice to Captain Awesome, and you look out for Charah and make sure that Chuck is good after hard times, and watch out for Ellie and Clara, and you work at the Buy More and it's a job well done, you do, too and

"Grimes"

"And then..."

Morgan trailed, for the first time, looking down from pleading his case.

Casey's expression grew tighter. While Grimes' constant chatter was irritating, it was stranger to hear silence.

"And then I gained fatherly affections towards you and the-it might have-y'know, grown. Grown into- up into something, y'know"

Morgan cringed, his words rising in pitch as Colonel John Casey ground out a "more what" in a menacing, gritty tone. His nose was just near enough to feel Grimes' catching breath.

"Uh, maybe, a bit- a, uh a more intimate uh, a-uh,"

A shout cracked his concentration.

"Chuck! Casey's not answering the phone or the door. Think we should go in?"

Slowly, Casey turned his head back to Grimes. He released the cuff of his shirt and set him down.

Silent as a snarl, he moved towards the door.
