Disclaimer: I do not own Elias Van Dahl or his lover. However, I do own her name and this story.
Other tidbits: You know… Minor characters deserve as much respect as major characters. Since Elias is one of my favorite minor W.I.T.C.H. characters, I decided to write a couple of fanfics about him in 2005 (I just rediscovered this on a long-lost USB drive of mine today). I know it's not perfect, but this just came to me one day and I liked the plot enough to write a rough draft and then type it up. Keep in mind this took place after the events of "The Last Tear" (comic canon).

Shortly after the guardians left, Elias Van Dahl went over to his easel. Looking at the incomplete portrait, of his beloved, he smiled.
"Today is the end of my suffering, Lucia!" he said, taking out a paintbrush and oil paint. The painter then resumed finishing the painting he was unable to work on for four centuries.
It wasn't long before he finished her face and added the finishing touches. He admired his work for a brief moment.
He frowned. With tears about to roll down his cheeks, he sighed: "Today is not the end of my suffering. I may have finished your portrait, but I cannot truly say goodbye to you…"
Elias felt what resembled a cold hand caress his left cheek.
"Would you like to say goodbye to me now?"
Before him, a ghostly form of a woman appeared. She had shoulder length brown hair and matching color eyes. Elias recognized the dress she was wearing, confirming the fact that the ghost was indeed that of—
"Lucia!" Elias exclaimed, hugging what had once been her waist. "How did you get here?"
"I cannot tell you everything, but I can say that I had help from an old woman, whom I suppose was one of God's angels. She assured me you were alive and too good for punishment, and that I can reunite with you briefly as soon as you were no longer cursed by an unspeakable evil."
The painter smiled at Lucia for both coming and still not being aware about neither Kandrakar nor Metamoor.
Lucia started to dull and fade away from the feet up. "We have little time left together. Will you accept this as a goodbye?"
She got closer to Elias' face. Her lips slightly puckered and they touched his lips. In response, Elias got closer to her cold lips, resulting in a kiss that lasted until only the upper half of Lucia's body remained.
"I love you, Elias!" Lucia said with only her neck, shoulders and head still visible.
Elias smiled again. "I love you too, Lucia!" were his last words to her as she completely disappeared; a smile was on her face right until the end.
Not long afterwards, his eyes started to get a little misty. Work, however, caused him to rub his eyes and being on a new project. He already had it in mind: a painting of lovers separated that had finally reunited after many years. He even had the title already conjured up: The Brief Reunion of the Eternal Lovers.
