Disclaimer: I don't own Jonah Wizard or any part of The 39 Clues Series

"Mommy! Mommy! Guess what? Guess what?" five-year-old Jonah Wizard shouted as he ran into his house. "One of my teachers said I have talent in music. And I might be a famous musician someday! And…. and… Mommy? "Jonah's mother was nowhere to be found. He wandered into the kitchen, where he spotted his dad sitting at the table, a plate of cookies and a glass of milk sitting in front of him. Jonah sat down and asked,

"Where's Mommy? 'Cause I gotta tell here something. It's really important."

His dad looked distressed, unsure of how to answer. "She's um…away for some business. "

"But…..but….." How could Jonah make his mother proud if she was never there? Suddenly he began to cry. Why did his mom always leave so unexpectedly?

His dad, trying to reassure him, said kindly, "Hey listen, buddy. She'll be back soon." He handed Jonah a cookie, hoping he would stop crying. When Jonah refused, he tried a different tactic. "How about we get out my guitar? We can write a song together. Just you and me."

Jonah considered this. If he was going to be a famous musician, he had to practice, right? "Okay!" he said, wiping away his tears. The two went up the stairs to the music room, where his dad picked up his guitar.

"Umm…." his dad said as he was thinking of a tune.

"How about this?" Jonah began to hum. His dad began to strum the strings on his guitar, and started singing.

"Jonah boy, my buddy

Jonah boy, my buddy, my son."

"No," Jonah inturrupted "Do homie."

"Huh?"

"Homie. Not buddy. Homie's cooler."

"Oh okay." His dad started singing again

"Jonah boy, my homie

Jonah boy, my buddy my son."

"Okay. How about you add…." The two of them continued writing the song. Then, Jonah learned to play it on his own tiny guitar. Pretty soon, Jonah forgot that his mom wasn't there. It didn't matter anymore. He had his dad, who would always be there for him, always by his side.
