The king and the lord of the dead.

- What brings you here, brother ? a dark , cold voice echoed through the walls of the black palace . – I bring sad news, brother, replied the visitor, a man dressed in a golden armour , wearing a lightning bolt in his hand. He was tall and stately, with shoulder long black hair, grey at the temples , and a long dark beard. His grey eyes were cloudy and very serious. He turned those eyes to the first speaker, now emerging from the shadows.

The second man was older and did not look much like his brother. He was rather thin in comparison , and much paler. Long, oily hair hang down his shoulders and back , and he glared at the visitor with a angry fire in his black, narrow eyes. – Well, what news can be important enough to make the almighty Zeus visit my realm, uninvited and in person ? said Hades, the king of the Underworld, coldly. His younger brother didn't respond as he normally did , with rage and wounded pride, but with a sad , little smile and he deep, heavy sigh.

- Olympus has fallen , brother . I am the last one alive. We… were attacked, by the minions of our Father , and a strange man, of unknown origin , appeared , when we were about to defeat the titans . He killed us, brother, all but me… He took our brother and our sisters as easily as you open your eyes from your sleep, Hades. And our children … The voice of Zeus broke and Hades was shocked when tears started falling down his proud and might brother's face, which seemed more worn than he had ever seen it.

- How can it be ? And why wasn't I notified ? I could have helped , he said and glared at his brother. – It wouldn't have do us any good , brother. You would have been just another casualty . After all , who can defeat the oldest power that exist ? – Do you mean… Chaos ? – Yes, brother. Chaos has returned to this world and destroyed the land of the gods . Now I need you to do me a favour brother.

- What could I do for you in a time like this ? Hades replied, surprisingly quiet and gently . – Watch over the humans, brother, as long as you can. I am dying as we speak and there is no one else to protect the mortals after I am gone. You must prevail as long as possible. Hades couldn't speak any more , when he heard his brothers words and noticed several new changes. Zeus seemed to be …withering from the inside out, he was losing body mass as they spoke , his hair and beard were growing white and thin, his face becoming an old , ailing man's .

Hades knew then that Zeus spoke the truth and that he would soon be lost god alive, and who knew how long that would be, if Chaos choose to get rid of him as well ? But he promised Zeus to watch out for the simple humans and fight against the origin of all , for as long as possible.

Less than an hour later he sat shocked on the floor , holding the lifeless remains of his last sibling. The era of the gods was almost over.

The end.
