Maybe someday is now
He quietly let himself into her apartment locking the door behind him not that it mattered everyone but Steph could break in here. While making his way towards the bedroom he paused to listen to Rex running on his wheel. Too bad he couldn't get Steph to run even half as much as Rex did. The sight that greeted him when he opened the door brought a small smile to his face. She was lying there arms up above her head, hair everywhere, legs out from under the blanket sleeping away. There wasn't much that came between Steph and sleep.He sat down in the chair near her bed too tired to stand up anymore. He had had a very long day having had several takedowns and meetings with new clients. But he wasn't so busy that he hadn't heard the latest through the burg grapevine about Steph.
It appears that she and Morelli are off again according to the grapevine. They had had a knock down drag out fight outside the police station after Steph brought in her latest FTA. It seems Morelli didn't care to see his girlfriend bringing in a skip and once again all covered in garbage. You would think he would be use to it by now. The fight as usual had to do with when was she going to give up her job that he didn't think she was qualified to do so she could marry him and be a burg housewife. For the life of him he doesn't understand how Morelli claims to love Steph as much as he says he does but wants her to change to what he wants instead of just loving her for being herself. Granted Stephs life can be a bit crazy and unconventional but it's who she is.
He's come to realize the last few months that her life is just as crazy as his. Maybe her life is not quite as dangerous as his but it's still dangerous. Trouble just seems to find Steph no matter what precautions are taken to try and keep her safe. She has made him re think several times that maybe his life can lend its self to a relationship. Maybe it's time to stop using that as an excuse and take a chance. She is already so much a part of his life. Now it seems he may have a chance to explore a relationship with Steph now that she and Morelli are off again. Taking a final look at her he whispers "Sweet dreams Babe" and leaves just as quietly as when he arrived. While driving to his home or the bat cave as Steph calls it he makes plans to call Steph tomorrow and ask her out to dinner. Maybe its time to see if someday is now.
