Aftermath
Ashley Magnus stood in her room, remembering what had just happen less than 12 hours ago on that very spot. Thanks to the Nubbins, Will Zimmerman her mother protege stood there shirtless and about to kiss her.
'Stupid Nubbins' she thought. She didn't know why she was still feeling this way, her mother told her that the nubbins made people horny so why did she still feel a longing to kiss Will and more. Ashley was a grown woman who long ago had given up any hope of getting a fairy tale love and just decided to keep monster hunting for the rest of her life like her mother.
Despite the wall she put up she had a heart and even though it knew it would never get love, it still wanted love. But she know no man would ever want to be with her, sure she was hot but the second someone find out about her job they'd run off scared.
'But Will wouldn't' she thought. After all he hunted monster along side her and they owned each other there lives many times over. 'Don't be stupid' she thought to herself. Will was a book worm who probably would fall in love with someone more like her mother. Why did she feel this way. Was she falling for Will.
No she knew it would never happen. 'But i can dream' she thought before hearing a knock on the door. "Come it" she said. Will opened the door slightly and stuck his head in and asked "Do you have a minute".
"Will " she said as she felt her stomach do a somersault "Of course come in". He walked in the door and closed it behind him and headed over to Ashley. "So, how are you feeling" he asked. "Fine, the Nubbins are in the freezer, the new food arriving tomorrow and everythings back to normal" she said.
"Listen Ashley, we need to talk about what happened here" he said seriously. "Oh are almost kiss, kind of hoping we could avoid that conversation" she said.
"Yeah well listen, I talked to Magnus and she said something very interesting, appearently the pheromone the Nubbins produce doesn't induce lust it just magnifies underlying feelings" he said.
'Huh' she thought. Could it be true, did they have feeling for each other that were buried deep down brought to the surfaceby the pheromones of the Nubbins.
"Ashley, i don't know how you feel about me but i think" he began before being interrupted by Ashley who said "You don't have to say anything Will, I understand their about a millions reason why we should just ignore this whole incident and move on, like we work together, i'm the boss's daughter, you probable have someone, we're not exactly compatable and if my mom ever found out there's no telling what she'd do".
As she listed off each reason she felt a lump form in her throat as she let go of any hope that Will might be the one and wait to hear him agree with her. To her surprise that was not what he said.
"Actually i was going to ask you out on a date and see what happens" he said. "Oh" she almost whispered. "But if you don't want to " he began sounding quite sad. "No, no i'd love to go on a date with you" she said starting to smile.
"Tomorrow at 7, i'll take you out to dinner" he said. "Perfect" she said. "OK, emm, Goodnight" he said. "Goodnight" she said . Will left the room and he and Ashley leaned on opposite side of the closed door and in perfect unison they both said "Yes".
Will headed back to his room, after all he had reservation to make. As for Ashley, she lay down on her bed and could wait for tomorrow. Maybe their is still hope for her fairy tale love and happily ever after.
