Chapter 1 Struck by Lighting
I heavy sighed as I looked at my window hearing thundering outside my bedroom window. Feeling much bored of nothing to do but watch raindrops on mild afternoon. My family and I were supposed to have a picnic in the park today but we have to cancel it due to a storm hitting. I sighed softly and sat down on my bed and decided to turn on the TV to ease my boredom. Hearing the TV blaring out, I turn on few switches to find a good show to watch. Then a Talespin came on and I beamed not knowing it came on since I was young remembering loving to watch this show with characters I adore from jungle book and new members they've placed. It was the last part of episode on plunder and lighting.
I grinned as I lay my chin on the pillow while I watched more of Baloo being a hero saving the Cape Suzettes from Don Karnage and his air pirates minions. When he was in the screen I couldn't help to giggle a little thinking his accents was cool and pretty funny as some stunts he does but he was an self centered pig due he boast himself of his dashing looks and being center of attention. And he's wasn't good to his crew. I giggle a little more feeling like a child and I catch a glimpse on my side sitting a small round mirror, seeing my brown hair mess up while looking at my light blue eyes which I cannot tell if they really are that blue.
I sighed while the Talespin still playing I grabbed my hairbrush to brush through my hair, getting knots out and keep watching more this show. I saw Baloo charge his sea duck at the Iron Vulture while the razor beam was still at the mouth. I even watch Don Karnage ordering his crew to shut it while the razor is still outside. What an idoit. I thought and then I hummed. It will be so cool to go in that show, having amazing adventure with Baloo and just.. have fun with them I guess. I smile a little, almost daydreaming but but was snapped when the thunder shook making a huge noise. I flinched and then saw the TV not working.
I groaned in annoyed and went over trying to fix my TV to get it work want to see the end of the episode. Then suddenly I felt my room begin shook, with my books falling off of my bookshelves and my other stuff getting fell on my hard wooden floor. I run to my bed without thinking and gripped my sheets in fright not knowing what to do but then I saw something glowing beside my bed. I manage to go to the edge while my room shook, seeing a flashing red swirling thing I couldn't help to stare at it, stunning and puzzle all mixed that made me lose my grip of my sheets. I tumbled over to the red swirling and I screamed plunging down through the red swirl and saw light coming out in the end, feeling cool air against my cheeks.
I blinked seeing white clouds around me with blue sky and more, falling down below fast. I gasped when I saw the jungle by the sea below and caught a glimpse of a vine on the tree just below me. I quickly grabbed it to stop my falling and gripped it hard. I kept falling down until I came to a complete and my body clings on the vine like my life was depending on it. I feel my heart pounding while hearing jungle noise shutting my eyes tightly for a second. About seconds later I slowly open my eyes and saw the jungle surrounded me and glance down, looking at the ground an inch away. I let go the vine landing my feet feeling my body tremble breathing heavily.
"Okay okay. I survived the fall, I'm alive. That's good, very good." I spoke to myself, trying to be calmed and looked up to find the red swirl but to my shock the red swirl was gone instead only white clouds and blue skies were shown. I breathed a little, doing my best to get my heart to beat normal as I heard more exotic animals calling. I glance around more almost walk a bit.
"Where am I?" I muttered. I almost jumped when I hear a footsteps coming my way. I gasp in fright not knowing what is coming as I brace myself of any danger.
" Miss are you alright?" I heard British mixing India voice spoke and I sighed in relief thanking God for another person.
"Yes thank you. I didn't know what happen but I fall from the sky and I don't know where I am. Can you help me?" I asked, sounding desperate wrapping my arms around myself.
"Yes stay there, I'm coming." A figure spoke as I saw the figure coming out as I smile more. But then my face became shocked when a figure steps out. It was a black panther, walking like a man! He wore a little pilot clothing but wearing a brown hat and has a bag on his side and wore a tan shirt with brown pants as the panther was stunned seeing me. Without a warning I screamed, making the big cat screamed too having his tail almost bushy. I bolted away and climbed up to the nearest tree despite that I know he is able to climb but I didn't care. When I was on a one branch I cling on the tree with my face all paled. What the heck is going on here?! I thought, freaking out and then a black panther walk up to the tree I was on, having an amazed face with his golden eyes gleamed.
"Incredible," He breathed. I felt my heart pounding hard, still clinging on the tree like a cat.
"H-how can you talk?" I manage to ask and he glances at me puzzled.
"I was about to ask the same question. So tell me, what are you? A hairless ape from your close relatives?" He asked still have an amazed look. I looked at him dumbly.
"No I'm not an ape. I'm a girl!" I snapped He tsks.
"You need to be specific of telling me what you are." I breathed.
"I'm a human. You know man cub type dealing o…" I tried to explain and he looked at me puzzled. "Or should I saw a woman cub since I'm a female." He hums a little and then nodded a little having his paws on his chin.
"I see, but I have never seen any of your kinds roaming around in this world. This is truly remarkable." He begin to climb up and I wimped, gripping on the tree bark.
"Come on down from there. I won't hurt you." He spoke kindly, with a reassuring smile but I didn't dare move my spot.
"Wait..are you going to eat me?" I swallowed. The Black Panther stare at me long and then he burst out laughing.
"Will did you get that crazy idea!? I will never do such a thing, " I just shrugged, but was confused of what he eats since big cats are carnivores. He quiet his laugh and climb up, reaching his paw out for me to grabbed.
"Alright come on down, and I'll help what your trouble is. But it's not safe to be here, the jungle is dangerous." I study his face to find any threats but somehow I can't find them in his golden eyes… that looks familiar? Have I seen him somewhere? He reaches his paws out to me again and I took it, letting myself fall down from the branch. I yelped as he catches me and let me go on the ground.
"Thank you." I said, felt less scared. He smiled and tip his hat.
"I'm Professor Bagheera mamm, but you can call me my name as everyone else does." He introduced himself. I was stunned after he said his name. Bagheera!? The Bagheera from jungle book?! He looked at me funny, with his paw out in greeting. "Um is there something wrong?" I shook my head and shook his paw with my hand.
"No no nothing's wrong. I'm Ashley please to meet you," I was screaming inside like a fan girl meeting a real Disney character but I control myself.
"The pleasure is mine." He replied and we hear more exotic calling. "We should head off as according to my watch it's almost late afternoon. We need to be out before night time. Come my plane is not far from here." We walked through the jungle while he escorts me out and I looked at him in curious.
"So, how many you guys can talk?" I asked, walking alongside with him.
"All of them. But we have few animals that don't." He explains as we walked more.
"So what do you study of?" I asked again.
"I study plants, finding a cure medicine for the future as it's my hobby studying new exotic plants." He answered.
"Oh really, that's pretty cool." I smiled a little and then we saw a huge plane ahead of us. It has red purple on top while having bottom white as I saw a golden symbol SK with red circle on it. I breathed. That plane looks so familiar…no it can't be?! When we got on the plane I catch a glimpse of many boxes and some plants in pots that were not familiar to me. I got a closer look at one of the plants that was actually gorgeous purple flower. I was tempted to touch one of the petal that my fingers slowly reach over one.
"Careful that has deadly thorns!" Bagheera stops me, getting on his driver seat. "These thorns will cause you to have massive sore on your muscles and sometimes cause vomit. I quickly got away from it and when Bagheera started the engine I sat the other driver seat.
"Where are we going?" I asked hearing the plane starting.
"To Cape Suzette." He replied, and the plane took off in the sky. I my eyes lit up, feeling my heart beating not believing this. I'm in Talespin! My childhood favorite TV series?! I beamed happily without him seeing with excitement.
"I'm taking you to my old friend where he can help us with your problem." He added, as we soared through the clouds.
"Who is he?" I asked. He sighed softly like he doesn't want to say it.
"Baloo," He manage to answer. I squeal inside more couldn't believe I'm meeting another Disney characters and he was one of my favorites. Then suddenly I didn't understand why I don't see Bagheera while I watch the TV series while I can see Baloo. I decided to act like I don't know him I asked him.
"Baloo?" He roll his eyes a little.
"Yes. I usually don't go to him for help but I have no other one to trust as he's my only hope for help, sadly." He said. I smile a little cannot wait to meet him. Then suddenly we heard another plane sounds and I gasped. I turn to look out the window, trying to find another plane and heard Bagheera growled softly.
"Oh great."
"What's going on?" I asked. He pushes his pilot drive making the plane go faster.
"Air pirates." He answered through his teeth. My face was horror as I sat back down.
"Air pirates?" I asked making sure I hear correct and he nodded.
"Those fiends have always taken the sky every time I flew my boss's plane and I have nothing valuable I can give beside my plants." Then we heard the gunshot and went right though the plane and I cried, crouching down my seat not wanting to be shot and we both saw one of the propellers on fire. I breathed heavily and look out from my window and saw more small planes over us with some fox pirate skull symbol on them and saw one air pirates having a grappling hook and shot the wing. He begins climbing down the rope while the others did the same. I felt Bagheera grab my arm and I turn sharply seeing he got it on auto and took me to one of the boxes. He put me in the metal box and I saw some more strange plants in cups covered with plastic bags.
"Stay there and don't come out," He whispered, shutting the lid.
"Wait, what about you?" I hissed but he hushed me.
"I'll find a way to make the leave. Just stay low and be quiet." He shut the lid, right after I hear the metal ceiling being ripping apart. When it was done I heard Bagheera snarled under his breath and heard a foot dropped on the ground.
"Greetings and tribulations, fellow Professor! Is it I that spanaic provoking pirate; DON KARRRRRNAGE!" I heard a voice spoke that was in a thick Spanish mixing with Italian and French accents. I peeked through the hole and my breath stops, seeing a red wolf wearing a blue captain coat and wore light grey pants with dark grey boots. He was giving Bagheera a bow, smirking his wolfish teeth. I covered my mouth praying he won't hear me or smell me with my heart hammering in my chest badly.
Author's Note: Hello everyone how it's going? I couldn't help myself but wanting to write this story since Talespin is my other favorite childhood TV series and been having this idea since I been watching this. I know Bagheera didn't show up in the TV series but I want to put him in since he's awesome making him look Professor by his personality. I really hope you like the beginning I did and this was just an idea I had hoping I could continue this. I don't own any Talespin/jungle book characters (Bagheera) except OC aka me.
