Hey everybody! This is my first one-shot, and, strangely enough, it came to me in the shower. Oh well, you never know when inspiration will strike. This is NOT a death-fic, sorry if your looking for one, because you won't find it here. And trust me, the entire situation is not as serious as it seems at first. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own NCIS or any of its characters, they all belong to CBS.
Tony was going to do it. He was going to jump. He had no other choice, nothing left to do. This was his last resort.
He'd silently said goodbye to the team with his eyes. Abby, in all of her happy-go-lucky Goth glory. McGee, with all of his geeky hobbies and big words. Ziva, the assassin, as he liked to call her.
And Gibbs. He'd silently told him goodbye as well. Gibbs hadn't seemed to notice, or if he did, he didn't care; Tony didn't know which and at this point, it didn't matter.
He took a deep breath and stepped closer to the edge. He knew everyone was watching him- they were probably all willing him to jump. All eyes had been on him since he'd stepped up to the edge. He didn't like being the center of attention as he did this, but everyone was here, so it was now or never. And never wasn't an option.
Tony breathed in slowly, and then out. He clenched and unclenched his hands. The he squeezed his eyes shut and bent his knees to jump.
His jump was interrupted by Gibbs irately saying "Tony, hurry up with it! I don't have all day!"
Abby came forward with a worried look in her eyes. "Tony," she said. You don't have to do this!"
Tony just smiled at her sadly. "Yeah Abbs, I really do."
"Oh please!" Ziva shouted. "You are jumping off of a chair, Tony, not becoming a martyr!"
"Tony," Dr. Lauren Seris said slowly. "This is just a simple exercise to help with fear. All you have to do is jump off of the chair and we can move on."
"This is why I hate group therapy!" Gibbs yelled. "We all have to do stupid, pointless things like jump off of chairs! Hell, you already made us pick up McGee!" How do these 'exercises' help anyone?!"
"They help you become more whole as a team." Lauren said calmly. She had heard that this team was hard to work with, and they truly were.
"I'm ready." Tony said, his voice wavering.
"Finally!" Gibbs said exasperatedly.
Tony squeezed his eyes closed, held hid breath, bent his knees, and jumped.
And he landed perfectly.
"Now we can go!" Gibbs said, preparing to stand up.
"No, Special Agent Gibbs, we're not done yet." Lauren said. "We haven't even done trust falls yet."
"The team let out a collective groan. The Gibbs stood, and throwing back his head, he shouted "I HATE GROUP THERAPY!"
Lauren applauded his actions, praising them. "Good expression of your emotions, Special Agent Gibbs! Now tell us how you really feel!"
Isn't Tony such a drama queen? ;) I hate trust things, I was once forced to do that lifting a person thing. I hated it, I strongly dislike any trust exercises. Please review!
