The Story of the Last Man
A Pokémon Fan-Fiction
Chapter 1
It all began that one fateful day, after the wars had subsided. The humans had been dead for decades… or so they thought.
Anyway, the Pokémon Baby Search Team, in this case a Typhlosion (Tye) and a Feraligatr (Fang) where hiking the mountains in search of Pokémon babies that had been disowned by their previous parents, when they heard a strange crying. "That doesn't sound like any pokémon I've ever heard before." said Fang. "Maybe it's a new species!" said Tye with a chuckle. They followed the sound of the crying to try and get to the source. They started following the sound of the crying to try and get to the source. They rounded one last corner, and they came to a cave, where the sound of the crying seemed to be echoing from.
Suddenly, amongst the crying, Tye heard a series of screeches. "Get down!" yelled Tye. They both fell to the ground with their hands covering their heads, and just in time to. Right when they did this a swarm of Golbat, with a Crobat as the leader, flew over their heads. The crying continued, and Fang and Tye got up off the ground. They both sighed a sigh of relief. "Holy shit that was close!" said Tye. Fang nodded in agreement, "Let's go inside." he said.
They walked into the cave. Tye was cowering close to Fang, their footsteps echoing in the dark cave. There were many puddles on the ground, stalactites and stalagmites were scattered along the floor and ceiling, the sound of dripping water always near. The sound of the crying became louder as they walked deeper into the cave. There was a dim light shining at the end of the cave. "I see something, come on!" said Fang. "W-w-w-wait for me!" shouted Tye. They ran for the end of the cave, the light getting brighter, the crying getting louder, the…temperature getting warmer? Fang stopped running, "Hey Tye!" he shouted, "Yeah?" replied Tye. "Is it just me, or is it getting warmer?" asked Fang. Tye paused for a moment, "You know what? Now that you mention it-yeah-it is a little warm in here for a cave." he said, "I also smell burning wood."
After what seemed like hours, they finally reached the source of the light-a rock? No, wait, the light was coming from behind the rock. Fang grabbed the large rock to try and move it away. "Ow!" he shrieked. "What?" asked Tye. "The rock is red hot!" replied Fang. "Here, lemme try." said Tye. He heaved, and pushed the rock out of the way, thus revealing the source of the crying. What they saw made their jaws drop.
It was a human baby.
