~Unconventional~

It was certainly one of the strangest and most boring weddings he had ever gone to.

"Lieutenant Colonel Miles and Scar have offered to start with the Kanda district and set up a hospital in honor of the Rockbell doctors, and for the remaining Ishvalan refugees. They're planning on reconstructing the streets that Kimblee destroyed first."

"That's one less place to worry about, I suppose. Give them our thanks the next time you see them, Major."

"Yes sir."

"We can start on the other end of Ishval in the Daliha district then. Doctor Marcoh already left the other day. He's setting up a practice on the border of the Gunja district; we can send him a supply team on the way to Daliha."

"By the way, Second Lieutenant Fuery finished the new communication system he was working on. He asked us to take a few of them to Ishval and test them out while we're there."

"It wouldn't be too much trouble, would it, General Mustang?"

"Of course not, Lieutenant Fuery. If you improved the original design by as much as you said, you could probably distribute it throughout Amestris. I suppose it would be a great help in picking up dates-"

"That's enough, General. Back to the matter of Ishval."

"…Yes, Major Hawkeye. As I was saying, we can start rebuilding the Daliha district. It's right at the end of Ishval by the desert, and there's no doubt that Xingese traders will start arriving again if we establish a trading post. Our first priority however, is to allow the Ishvalans who lived there to return to their homes. We'll need a temporary place for the majority of them to settle before starting the reconstruction. Of course, we'll need to make sure the pipelines and electricity are in working order. There's a lot of material we'll need to transport for this, so getting a railroad built over the area would make things go much faster…"

"One thing at a time, sir. The railroads can be built first, to transport all the necessary material. We'll work on finding an area where the damage isn't as bad for the new buildings. Besides, the Ishvalans are certainly willing to help, and I doubt they still trust the military so much to allow them to handle this much work on their own land."

"You have a way of making things sound so simple, Major. What would I do without you?"

"I'm sure you would slack off on your paperwork and do nothing as usual, sir."

"You know me too well. But we have been planning Ishval's reconstruction for quite a while already. What do you say we take a break just for tonight?"

"Please stay focused, sir. Just because we'll soon be sharing a tent in Ishval does not excuse the fact that you will most likely be too exhausted to attempt any recreational activities."

"Such a pity. By the way, is there something you want to say, Fullm- Ed?"

Edward Elric's eye twitched slightly as he listened to their conversation. This was how General Bastard and Major Hawkeye wanted to spend their wedding reception?
