Gwen felt herself light, weightless, briefly before gravity took hold of her and began her slow descent towards the ground. She panicked briefly. Peter was preoccupied with the grotesque form of Harry, but then a sudden turn events led Peter to come out on top. With all he could muster, he vaulted over the spinning gyros of the tower they were in and flew towards her.

She smiled briefly, knowing that he would save her. He was already turning to face her, his outstretched hand already in the process of pressing his web-shooters. The fluid shot out and she could see it, coming to save her.

"Hi there." She remembered the feelings that filtered through her when she called him out, just before Max's first appearance. Even if she had only wanted to be friends, her heart couldn't bear to be anything less than lovers. The jokes they shared, the ground rules the so tried to implement even though it was a fruitless endeavor. All of it made her heart yearn more for the boy even if the best thing for the both of them was to be separated.

"England, really?" Then she remembered his wounded voice, muffled by the mask he wore, his heroic mask, his mask that gave everyone hope. It didn't give her hope then. At that moment it had acted as a wall, keeping them apart. His identity as Spiderman tore a chasm between them, because he wasn't a regular man. He had responsibilities not just to her, but to the city he protected. She didn't want that. She wanted to be selfish. She wanted him all to herself. That moment made her realize she never would be able to and had made the choice to complete end it with him.

She briefly smiled, the webbing finally a second away from reaching her. She remembered the love note written in webbing for all to see. With each step she took away from the taxi cab, her heart floated higher. She giggled, laughing all the way as Peter took her up and swung them on that pillar on the bridge. Somehow, it was all gentle and smooth. She didn't land roughly, and despite the wind roaring past her face, her hair remained in place. Then he proclaimed his eternal love for her.
