The Night Before The Quell Began

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Suzanne Collins or Scholastic, I didn't write the Hunger Games Trilogy myself (obviously). That belongs to Suzanne Collins.

The night before had finally come;

No one was happy, except for just some.

In many past Victors, disbelief stirred,

Perhaps the Quell could be deterred?

Alas, this was never to be said.

They tortured them once, and they'll torture again.

The Quarter Quell, Snow's orders said,

Will send the past Victors into the shed.

The shed, where they'll be trapped till they die.

It's just an arena, but they wondered why,

An arena could trap them all so neatly,

Until they murder, and stop believing,

For once, that life is a wonderful thing.

There is no need for axes to fling;

They wish that someone could end the pain,

But no, never, never again.
