To Have and To Hold, You Must Tell The Truth.

Shawn looks at his girlfriend lovingly. They were watching the sunset on the beach. Shawn wanted to ask her, he had the ring and everything, but one thing stopped him. He still hadn't told her. He needed to tell her that he wasn't psychic, but he wasn't sure if he should tell her before or after he asked her.

'Do it now!' said the little voice in his head, which sounded disturbingly like his father. But, still he wasn't sure. He didn't know how she would react to finding out he had been lying to her all these years. What if she told Lassie? Or the Chief? He'd be out of the job. Again. Not to mention he could go to jail.

'Man up, Shawn. You'll have to tell her sooner or later,' that stupid voice told him. 'Why can't it be later?' Shawn whined in his head. 'Because, Son, you have to tell her before you ask her.' 'Oh, shut up, Dad!' He was getting annoyed with that voice. But, he realized that it was right. He should tell her now and get it over with.

But how? 'Just tell her, you idiot!' There was the loving voice of his father again. 'I thought I told you to shut up?' Shawn thought, frustrated. 'Calm down,' He thought to himself, 'it's just a voice.'

"Hey, Jules?" He asked, still unsure of how he was going to tell his girlfriend he had been lying to her. "Yeah, Shawn?" "I need to tell you something." "Alright, what is it?" She asked, sitting up. "I haven't been exactly honest with you…" "What? Shawn, are you cheating on me?" "What? No! No, I would never do that to you!" "Oh," she blushed, "Then what where you going to say?" Here goes nothing." I-I'm not actually psychic." "What" "I'm not actually psychic. I'm just supper observant. My Dad trained me to become a cop, but when he arrested me, my chances of becoming a cop became pretty low. I've never had a 'vision' in my life and I think people who actually think they are psychic, are psycho." "So, you've lied to me, to Chief, to Carlton…. What about Gus? Does he know?" "Yeah, he knows. So does my Dad. But, Jules, you can't tell Lassie. Or Chief. Or Buzz. Or…..Hell you can't tell anyone. Please Jules. If you tell them I could…." "Relax, Shawn. I won't tell anyone."

Shawn sighed, visibly relaxing. "Thanks Jules." Juliet smiled. Then she kissed him. When they broke apart, she looked at him and asked, "What made you decide to tell me now?" Shawn smiled, "Because. I didn't want any lies between us when I asked you." "Asked me what, Shawn?" She looked at him quizzically. Shawn grinned and pulled the ring out of his pocket. "Ask you to marry me, silly! So, Will you?"

Juliet stared at him, her mouth forming a little 'O'. When she recovered the ability to speak, she said, "Yes! Yes! Oh, I love you, Shawn Spencer! Yes, I will marry you!" She hugged him, and he laughed and hugged her back. Mr. and Mrs. Shawn and Juliet Spencer, crime fighting couple. Yeah, he liked that.
