First Metal Slug fanfic. Any kind of reviews are welcome. Surprisingly, unlike some fics I have been brainstorming for hours, this one took only a few minutes. Oh well.
Disclaimer: I do not own Metal Slug.

"Captain Shiring, please report to the Air Force Commander's office, please," the voice crackled from the announcer speakers that hung on top of the wall.
The pilot known as Henry Shiring stopped in the hallway and stared questioningly at the speaker.
"What could he want?" the pilot questioned. He then turned and walk towards where the Commander's office was.
Henry knocked at the door of the office and heard "Come in," from the other side. He entered the room and saw the Commander sitting down behind his desk, reading a few papers in his hand
"You summoned me here, sir?" Henry said, standing at attention.
"As you were, Captain," the Commander said while still keeping his eye on the papers. Henry now stood aloof awaiting what would happen next.
"Captain, you have proven that you are skillful in piloting the Slug Flyer, and your record proves it," he finally said. Henry felt proud in the inside for hearing that.
"Well, sir, I do what I can to survive out there, I have to get them before they get me," Henry responded.
"Of course, it should be natural for a soldier to think like that," the Commander stated. He finally put down the papers onto his desk and said to Henry, "The higher ups are recommending you to be transferred to the Peregrine Falcon."
Henry froze in shock upon hearing the last two words. Him, being in the legendary squad that practically has seen it all? The Peregrine Falcons were a special elite squad in the Regular Army, and is responsible for leading the Army to many victories against their enemies, the Rebellion. It was also a known fact that the squad also specialized in dealing with paranormal activity. To be in that squad meant a lot of dangers, but it was also a Regular Army soldier's dream to be apart of what they do. If one wanted to see EVERYTHING, normal or not, then being in the squad was a way to do that.
Henry was still at a loss of words, and after a few seconds, the Commander finally said, "As of 0800 hours, you shall fly to their current base of operations in Mindanao island of the Phillipines. They are currently on a mission there as there are reports of large Rebel activity in that area. I'm pretty sure the PF squad would love your assistance there. Congratulations, Captain. Now get some rest, you have quite a day tomorrow."
"…Yes, sir," Henry quietly said and left the room lost in thought. The legendary PF squad huh?
That's the end of the prologue chapter. Read and review away.
