A Life that Fades

I had watched him as he twirled his hair relentlessly through his fingers. He was worried, he was nervous. He noticed my concerned look then and gave me one of his own.

"I don't like this," he had told me. "Not one bit."

"I'm sorry. There's nothing you can do about it."

"No way I can change your mind?"

"Marluxia…" I walked up to him. "If we are ever going to overthrow Xemnas, we must first dispose of that keybearer."

He kissed me softly after that and said, "Larxene, I don't want to lose you."

I smiled to hide my fear. "I'll be fine."

He squeezed my hand. "Be careful."

I reached inside my pocket and placed a small trinket in his hand.

"Larxy…This is--"

I placed a finger delicately on his soft lips. "Yes, it's the necklace you gave me a year ago. The year before all this 'Castle Oblivion' nonsense started. I want you to take it back."

"But Larxy--"

"Shh! Fate shall not play in our favour my dear assassin. I can feel it. We're the last ones…"

Marluxia frowned and that was the worst thing I could have ever seen him do. "Larxy…"

"I'm sorry Marluxia…I wish it didn't have to be this way…" I walked away, slowly letting the grip slip on his hand. I left the room solemnly.

I appeared in front of Sora in another room. I smirked maliciously, hiding my sorrow. They say, we're nobodies, we're not supposed to have feelings. But I did. I had feelings for Marluxia…I loved him…

Now I'm fading after the fight. Sora has gotten the better of me, just like we feared. I knew it was my end…All I can remember is the soft texture of Marly's hair, the sweetness of his touch, the taste of kiss…But all that's disappearing now…

"I'm sorry Marluxia…" I whisper as I leave to the other plane, or wherever we go when we fade. Maybe I'll meet Marly again soon…Maybe…
