Kitty laid on the ground, with her arms tucked underneath her head and Lockheed chasing his tail beside her, as she watched the love of her life dancing in the air. Ororo had always been the most graceful woman Kitty had ever known. Her every move, even in battle, was filled with such sensuous grace that Kitty had never once wondered how her people had come to worship her as a Goddess back in Africa. If any Earth-bound woman could have ever been a Goddess, that woman was truly her beloved Windrider.
"Coo coo?"
Kitty looked to her best friend and burst out laughing. Smiling, she pulled him to her and gently drew his tail out of his mouth. He had caught his tail but had been smart enough not to bite it. She scratched his head while continuing to laugh, her spirits as bright as the cloudless, blue sky.
Winds suddenly rushed around them; Kitty looked up to see the object of her admiration landing before them. "Kitten," Ororo called, stretching out a hand to her, "care to join me?"
Kitty immediately sprung to her feet, causing Lockheed to coo his disapproval of being suddenly dumped from her lap. Kitty accepted Ororo's outstretched hand and shivered inside as Ororo kissed the back of her hand before raising them up into the sky. It was there that they danced far above any prying eyes with Lockheed circling them and cooing.
Ororo giggled suddenly, and Kitty's brown eyes grew wide in surprise. Ororo pulled her close against her and gestured with her head to where Lockheed was blowing smoke into the shape of a small heart. "Yes, 'Heed," Kitty answered her dragon's unspoken question, "I love you, Ororo."
"And I love you, my darling Kitten," Ororo answered, and then she kissed her.
