It's been one year. Only one year since the town of Sunnydale faded, and only one year since his world ended. You see, this boy was in love with a girl. Now that same girl is buried at the bottom of a crater, and she's never coming back.
When he visits the site on the anniversary of her death, he carries along a gold band. It's his wedding ring, a memento of an event that never took place. But today with that ring he can remember the words he hadn't been able to say.
"With this ring, I thee wed."
