Hoenn League Dreams

Chapter One
Karena looked out of the window in her bedroom and sighed. Rain dripped down from the gutter and fell to the ground. The rain continuously pounded down on the house in Littleroot, which didn't happen very often. She turned the T.V. on in her room and turned it to the channel where her friend, Gabby, reported on the current Hoenn League news.
"This is Gabby and my cameraman, Ty, coming to you from the Pokemon Contest in Verdanturf Town. The winner of today's Cute contest is May and her Skitty! So, May, do you have anything to say about today's victory?"
"Well, Gabby, what can I say? I'm so proud of my Skitty! We really did good today, and I got a new ribbon!"
"Thank you, May! Now, stay tuned, because next, I'm heading into the arena to interview various other trainers who competed today."
Karena sighed and turned off the T.V. She walked downstairs and sat at the table beside her mother.
"Karena, where were you?" Karena's mother asked. Karena twirled her curly brunette hair that fell to her shoulders and sighed.
"Just in my room watching T.V. Man, I wish that I was a Pokemon trainer. Just like May." She replied, smiling.
After breakfast, Karena went outside for a walk and heard a piercing scream shoot through the air.
"H-h-help m-m-m-me!"
Karena turned around and saw a Beedrill fly straight into the woods behind her house. She ran into the bushes and saw Professor Elm cornered by the Beedrill.
"Use my Pokemon to help me, please!" Professor Elm cried, tossing Karena a Pokeball. Karena fumbled with the red and white ball for a few seconds, and then caught it.
"Pokeball, go!" Karena shouted, tossing out the Pokeball. The Pokeball opened, and a Torchic appeared. Karena smiled and tried to think of something to do.
"Torchic, use tackle!" Karena ordered. The Torchic ran up to the Beedrill with an amazing force, and it's head hit the Beedrill on the side.
"Good, Torchic! Use tackle again!" Torchic, once again, pounded his head against the Beedrill, and the incredibly weak Pokemon flew away.
"T-t-t-thank you. You know, you're a pretty good trainer, for someone who's never handled a Pokemon before." Professor Elm commented.
After Karena went home that day, she thought about what Professor Elm had said to her. Maybe one day she would be the greatest Pokemon Trainer in the Hoenn Region.
The next day, Karena woke up early to get to Professor Elm's lab to receive her Pokemon. She entered the lab and saw many coated employees typing on their PCs and a boy was feeding a Mudkip.
"Hey, who are you?" Karena asked the boy with jet-black hair. The boy finished pouring the food into a blue bowl and smiled at Karena, handing her a business card with his name on it. It read:
SIMPLE SPLENDOR BREEDING CENTER

"Are you Harvey?" Karena asked the boy. He nodded and shook Karena's hand.
"Yes, and I love being a breeder! I get to take care of all sorts of Pokemon. Oh, do you need a Pokemon?" Harvey replied, quickly remembering why he was hired.
"Yeah, I came by to get a Torchic that Professor Elm reserved for me." Karena said as Harvey handed her the Pokeball.
"Wow, thanks!" Karena said. So begins the adventures of Karena and Torchic.
