The Yearly 365 Challenge

Prompt #3 (Location) Riverdale High

Holding his arms out wide. "What can I tell you kid. If you had chosen me; then you wouldn't have to go through this." He breathed in deeply. "I would never willing put you through this hell."

Veronica's chest tightened. "Leave me alone Reggie." She stepped closer to him. "I never want to speak to you ever again."

His arms lowered to his sides. "You know that I would never even attempt to work for your father … just to prove to you that I can handle your life style." Reggie sighed deeply.

"You still chose to work for my father." Veronica shook her head.

"Yes I did. I still do. But your father would never have set me up." Reggie folded his arms across his chest. "There is something about Archie that your father hates. He will keep going after Archie if you keep seeing him."

"I will get Archie out of this mess. I'll keep dad away from him." Veronica's head lifted.

"Only way you can protect Archie from your father at this point is to cut off all ties to Archie Andrews. Never speak or see him again." Reggie replied.

"No the only way to stop my father is too …." Veronica stopped talking as she realized what her father truly was up too. Cold chills ran down her spine.

"Veronica?" Reggie said in a low worried voice as he stepped forward. All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around the brunnette and never let go. But he knew that if he laid one hand on Veronica in that moment then he may very well have signed his death wish.

"Archie was never the target." Veronica whispered. "He was just the way to get to B ..." She couldn't go on.

Reggie's heart stopped. His eyes widen. "What?" He grabbed hold of Veronica's arms tightly. "What are you playing at Veronica Lodge?" He stormed in a low rough voice. "What have you set in motion to destroy Betty with?" He demanded as heat rose in his veins. His gribe tightened even more.

Veronica silently stared into Reggie's eyes.

"Riverdale High school is no place to discuss this." Reggie stepped away from the brunnette. "I'm sorry for holding you so tight; Veronica." His hands rose to run through the back of his hair. "We need to a solid plan on how to truly protect Betty against your father."

"You will remain in my father's employe Reggie; you get close enough to him so you can keep close tabs on him. I want to know what he has planned for Betty." Veronica stiffily nodded.

Reggie nodded in silence.

Veronica turned, and walked down the empty hallway.
