Love
Chapter 1
Rose
Ever since Rose was a little girl she had known that she was adopted, it was one of those things that she had picked up on at the very young age of five when she started to question why her younger Lissa looked nothing like her. Or rather why Rose looked nothing like Lissa. She had never minded it though that was until someone had been so rude to point it out.
"You know she's just trying to screw with you Rose. I wouldn't listen to a single word that comes from her stupid whore mouth."
Rose turned around stopping Lissa dead in her tracks as rose looked around trying to figure out whether or not any teachers were in ear shot. She really didn't care if she got in trouble around here, that was pretty much given around these parts, but Rose cared about Lissa and her parents who were generous enough to take her in so she always tried to make sure Lissa followed the straight and narrow even if it meant sacrificing her image to do so.
"Lissa-" Rose started in warning
"I know, I know, but Rose she deserves to have someone knock her down a couple of notches."
"It doesn't mean that person has to be you."
"If not me than who else? I'm your sister, blood or not which means it's my job to look out for you."
"If that's your logic than I should feel the same way when it comes to protecting you. Don't forget sisterhood goes both ways and if I don't want you to go after Mia then I expect you to do so you got that?"
Lissa rolled her eyes at first, but in the end agreed to her terms just like she always did.
"Fine, you win, but if she does it again don't expect me to hold back."
Rose sighed as she turned her attention elsewhere. She really hated it when Lissa acted like this.
"Did you hear that Avery was having her annual birthday bash tonight?"
"Of course I did, just like I do every year. What about it?"
"Well I may have scored both of us an invitation."
"You can't be serious I didn't even know you liked Avery, Don't you always claim that's she's one of the most shallow people you've ever met?"
"Well of course I still believe that but if I even want to get on the rooster for prom queen then I'm going to have to play the field when it comes to the popular crowd around here."
"and here I was assuming that my company was good enough for you."
"Which is why I want you to come with me. I mean you could make sure I don't get out of line like you always do and maybe for once in your life you could have a little fun for yourself."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"How long has it been since you've gotten laid?"
a deep blush settled across rose's cheeks as her mouth hung open. We're they seriously taking about her inactive sex life in the middle of the corridor?
"Not that it's any of your business, but it has been a while."
"Well don't tell anyone I told you this, but Avery's older brother is in college and I know for a fact that he's bringing a few of his college friends to the party tonight."
"Don't you find it strange that a bunch of college students are hanging out with teenagers?"
"Not at all. I mean we are seniors Rose. They're not that much older."
Shrugging, Rose contemplated the party for a moment thinking that maybe it would be fun to get back in the partying scene again. Sex wasn't the only thing she hadn't done in a while.
"Come on, Let's get to class."
Adrian
Adrian groaned flipping over in his bed as his alarm buzzed signaling the start of class for the day as he pulled the sheets over his head willing the alarm and his very vocal roommates to give him just a few more moments to shuck off his responsibility. Just a few more glorious seconds of much needed sleep and he would be okay.
Unfortunately the guys had other plans as his sheets were dragged from his bed and his roommate Dimitri Belikov stood over him looking as pissed off as ever about his alarm continuously going off.
"You know other people live in this house too. I'm pretty sure they don't want to hear your alarm clock in the morning."
"I just needed a couple more seconds in bed."
"Yeah at the expense of everyone else's sleep."
Sitting up, Adrian shrugged as he walked over to his closet passing Dimitri's bed which had old western books scattered all over it. Adrian sighed as he picked up one of the books and waved it around.
"I bet you wouldn't be as concerned about me and the others if you actually got your nose out of the books and lived your life for once."
"I do live my life, I just don't do it in the way that you and the others do."
"Well that changes tonight."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean Reed is dragging all of us to his sister's birthday party and you're coming with us. Who knows maybe you'll even meet your one true love there."
"In a party full of high schoolers?"
"They're seniors. They're not too far behind us."
"I think the rest of the frat would give us shit if they knew we were making out with girls in high school."
"Don't knock it until you try it. Besides they're only a year or two younger than us."
"Says the guy who already has an amazingly smart girlfriend."
"Hey, this isn't about me and Sydney, this is about getting you laid for the night."
"I get laid plenty."
"Yeah until they get to know you and then run in the other direction."
"Nobody's perfect. Especially not me."
"Please the reason that girls leave you is because you're so perfect."
"Everyone has flaws Adrian. It's not my fault that they don't stick around long enough to see mine."
"Someone will. You just haven't found her yet."
"Well here's to hoping."
Adrian smiled as he got dressed and his phone buzzed signaling an incoming message from who he assumed was Sydney. He always loved getting texts from her. She always sent the funniest things. But today the message was a little bit different.
'We need to talk." it read as his jaw clenched. No this couldn't be happening. Everything was going so perfectly. What had he done wrong?
"Is everything okay?" Dimitri asked worry etched across his features.
"I think Sydney is trying to break up with me."
"What? Why?"
"I don't know why. All she said was that we need to talk and every guy knows what that means."
"Look, you don't know what she wants to talk to you about so I would just go talk to her. Better to get it over with now instead of waiting in suspense all day."
"I know realistically you're right. I just don't want it to be over."
"Well no matter what happens. You know we'll be here for you."
"Thanks bro."
"anytime"
Adrian steadied his breath as he walked towards the fountain where Sydney was sitting. Her blonde hair caught the light as she stared down nervously at her feet. What the hell was going on?
When he got closer he noticed tears were streaming down her face and she was trying her hardest to not break down and cry. He hated seeing her cry.
"Syd? What's wrong?" he asked finally reaching her.
Before he fully knew what was happening Sydney flung herself into his arms and cried. What was happening?
"Please don't be mad at me Adrian. I never meant for any of this to happen."
"Hey. It's okay. Whatever it is we can work through it. I promise."
"We fucked up Adrian. Gah how could this happen we had all our lives for this to happen."
"Sydney. You're not making sense. I need you to tell me what's going on."
"I'm pregnant. Adrian. That's why I needed to see you. I'm pregnant and I know one hundred percent that it's yours. What are we going to do? We're just freshmen for God's sake."
Shock rushed over Adrian's body as he hugged Sydney tighter. They were having a baby. They were barely twenty and their first time had resulted in this. He swore that they were safe. They told themselves after the condom broke that their was no way it would happen to them. It was their first time and it had resulted in this.
"I promise that whatever happens we'll get through it. I just need you with me on this okay Sydney."
She nodded her head as her tears soaked his shirt. He wondered what the hell they were going to do now.
Lissa
Hands pulled Lissa back as she instinctively screamed making on of the hands clasp around her mouth in an effort to make her shut up. What the hell was going on here?
"Don't scream. You know I'm not going to hurt you." said the familiar voice which brought a smile to her lips.
The hand released her as she turned around to see Christian smiling at her. She jumped in his arm planting a kiss on his lips as a proper way of greeting.
"Well hello to you to, you know most normal people just go for the hello and don't try to scare the crap out of their girlfriends."
"Oh so you're my girlfriend now? I thought this thing between us wasn't exclusive."
"You know what I meant. A simple hello would be as effective."
Christian shrugged as he pulled her in to give her another kiss. She hated the fact that they had to sneak around, but if they wanted to keep their social lives in check they had to be secretive about their relationship. Plus it was so much hotter when the risk of being caught was there.
"are you busy tonight?" she asked through kisses as Christian unbuttoned her blouse exposing her breast. Thank God they were hidden from prying eyes.
"I might be. Why? What's up?"
"are you going to Avery's party tonight?"
"Why would I ever go to that mindless drones party?"
"Because I'll be there."
"Why should that be my concern? We aren't exclusive and you can go to those parties if you want to. Maybe even screw with a couple other guys who aren't me."
"What if I want you to be there?"
"Depends on what I get in return."
"I promise I'll make it worth your while."
"Why not make it worth my while right now?"
With a smile, Lissa shoved him to the side giving him a sly smile before buttoning up her shirt and retrieving her backpack that had fallen to the ground.
"Give me what I want and I'll give you what you want I'll see you tonight."
"Tease." he smiled as she walked feeling as if she had officially won the argument.
Dimitri
Dimitri's eyes surveyed the room moving from face to face as he tried his best to blend in with a room full of teenagers. Beer filled his red plastic cup as he took a sip from it and winced. God, was it disgusting. He wouldn't even have been drinking it if Adrian hadn't decided to drag him to this awful party
His eyes focused on Adrian as he saw him in the corner talking to none other than Avery. When Dimitri had asked Adrian why Sydney didn't want to attend, he had briefly mentioned something about homework before they had left for the party.
Sighing Dimitri downed his cup in one movement as he walked to the kitchen to hopefully get something a little bit stronger. That was also the first time that he saw her. She was leaning over the table flashing the most devilish smile Dimitri had seen as a single thought crossed his mind.
Who the hell was she?
